    Hi @anika987 ,

Where do you reside ? Outside India ?

If you are planning to work from home :-
Try out the website Upwork, freelancing kind of jobs by bidding. You can select a job of your choice or field of study.
Or if you like cooking, you can offer either a BF or Lunch package for few people, maybe working people and earn money. Ya , with kids it needs to be planned well.
Or if you love writing try out blogging or if you like to travel or share your opinions on various subjects or like fashion designing etc etc start a youtube vlog.

If you are planning to go for an office job, prepare a well written resume and try for openings in your field of work.
    Linkedin profile might help.

Hope some ideas have popped up

    Stay blessed.

    Hey,
I think Anika is trying to explore her options to get herself out of the constant let down feelings, and i think it's a huge positive for her to think of getting engaged with something.
This may or may not work for her, but exploration is the only way around. We never know , when what clicks for us and eliminates all our depressing thoughts.
    All the best Anika
I would suggest, if salary is really not an issue and the question is just about keeping yourself engaged, maybe you can take up a study course which challenges you. Or, on the other hand , it could be a a new class where you get to interact with other people / students, may or may not be extremely demanding. It could simply be a class/course of learning a new language or something.
Also, I would like to add, that going back to India might or might not solve the problem for Anika, she knows her situation better.

I think boredom and no real pressures in life are also a problem, who thought steady state could have its own set of perils.
I hope @anika987 doesn't mind, but can we compare this situation with something like playing with set curd.
But i really think that she needs to value add on herself to find herself again.
and definitely, its difficult to leave one's comfort zone till one is really pushed to do that.

Thanks for all your replies guys..

True..I can’t lie to myself but I do feel
Lonely here and everyday feel “ what am I even doing here?”..nothing wrong with the life here at all.It is just not meant for me.However..due to circumstances,I have to be here maybe..forever..

My dad (who is No more) never wanted me to go abroad.I have regretted many
Times as to why I never settled back in India with a job.

I have no problem taking up a job..I can work very hard.Yes..I admit my flexibility of vacations will come to a standstill..either ways it will as kid is getting older:)

However..I have decided I want to do something atleast for diversion and maybe bring a change in my life and am sincerely starting to Search for one.I have also prepared resume and started forwarding it.

It has been sometime but still not got any.Hence,I was looking for more options.Due tot the salary thing and long working hours,I have not started looking full time.Maybe after sometime, will do that too

Tell you what, if you can't remedy situation , you need to forget about it and focus on the future ahead.
Reminiscing repeatedly about what could have been and what is, will only lead to more pain.
You need to overcome this by just grieving once and for all with your situation and then opening routes for acceptance. You don't need to express what you missed always.

It's just a healthy compromise that you should make with yourself, which will save you the bitterness that engulfs you time and again.
Sorry,if i said something not right in the context.
    Wishing you happiness :)in depth!
Acceptance is the mantra! and that is in only your own hands

    All the best girl!

You are in the very fortunate position of not having to work for a salary. Why not look for volunteer opportunities to coincide with your child's school hours? You can pick something that will eventually lay a foundation for paid employment, if you so choose.

    Hi malstrom,

I don’t mind volunteer or even small salary but as I said even the full time position am getting an hourly pay of $10 or max $12..

They are 8 to 5 jobs..my confusion is ..is it worth putting so many hours for that salary and my kid is only starting first grade. So for the after hours the salary will be paid there mostly.

Before kid,I used to work for long hours and salary didn’t matter but now for some strange reason,I feel with no flexibility, meagre salary, long working hours with kid especially when am not so career driven makes me dull..

However..I need to divert myself as I know that I am sinking.. Hopefully I will get something.

Volunteering is a good idea.Let me look for some around.
