Re: ideas for fancy dress competition

    Dear vidhya,

She can dress up with full vegetables. You can prepare necklace, bangles, leafy dress ear rings with diff vegetables and dhals. You name her veggie matha and tell her to talk about the rising prices of veg and other things.Definitely she will get the first prize.
Hope this is helpful to you.

As you are in maharashtra, select only hindi or marathi devotional songs.

Re: ramayan character for fancy dress

    Hi kripa

its good to know your young tiny tot had won last year. considering our epics as a part of her competition , helps the child to know what is the significance of that character indeed.

why don't you try mandara or shurpanaka .......... character like that.

here my daughter though participates in fancy dress competition , but the school doesn't allow such characters to be played , though its an indian curriculam based school , but due to children from different countries also are studying , and the school doesn't want to make fun of the particular religion.

    :cheers

    HI,
nice idea for the school to have chosen Ramayan
for fancy dress. why don't you try the character"manthra" the hunchbacked lady. in this character, you can do all dressing and facial makeup. if you know tamil, you can make her recite one verse from kambha ramayanam, or from tulsidas. waiting to hear the good news, this time also "she has won the prize"!!!:)
    with love

Re: ramayan character for fancy dress

Do you know the story of Ahalya in Ramayana ?? She has been turned into a stone by a curse and Rama releases her with the touch of his foot. If you dont know the story, you can google it.

You can dress her up like a sage's wife, with her hair in a top side bun and a simple cotton saree till her knee ... have a cardboard in the shape of a stone ... And give her a dialogue that says she is grateful to Rama for releasing her from the curse... and praise Rama....

In Ramayanam the best characters are bharadhan, gugan -- you can choose any of these. You can ask her to play the role of Seetha / Oormila / mandothari ...

Or Gooni is a interesting character.

All the best to your daughter.

    Fancy Dress Ideas

Today only i know about indusladies through google. Can anyone pls help me out with fancy dress competition ideas for my 5 yrs girl studying in 1st standard? I have an idea of making her like a "Tree" (with a 2-3 line speech like "Pls save us, dont cut us as we don't do any harm to humans instead we help you. Save nature") Is the idea looks good? pls share your thoughts also. Eagerly waiting for replies.

    Re: Fancy Dress Ideas

When it comes to a fancy dress competition, they only way to win it is by being innovative.

Hmm..girl is 5 years old, so you need to make sure that she is comfortable with a fancy dress for atleast couple of hrs.

    - Flower girl (florwer ring on head looks beautiful, combination of colors in flowers.) girls look beautiful in flowery attire.

Hope this helped you. Make your darling look creative and innovative and ensure she is comfortable..

    Re: Fancy Dress Ideas

    Hi Krithika,
That's a wonderful idea :thumbsupto dress her as a tree and also convey a very important message to all children. It is really important for children to learn about their environment and how to preserve it. Appreciate your thought! :hatsoff
Do post a pic of your child in the costume if possible. And 'All the Best' for her for the competition.
    Thanks!
