I just started feeding my 4 month old some moong daal. I made the daal with just a it of salt and some haldi. But today I was thinking, should I be omitting salt for her altogether?

Yes please dont add salt or sugar in baby food upto 1 yr.
Salt is tough to digest and puts pressure on tiny kidneys.. Dont add salt. May be around 10 months, you can slowly add 1 pinch to introduce the taste . Until then dont add.

continue to add turmeric, thats very good ..

We should not add salt in baby food.An american nutritionist video says pulses already has salt content in it.
dont know about turmeric.you can check with your peadiatrician office before you give turmeric to baby.
you can mix some formula or breastmilk to make the baby taste new solid food.Nothing else is needed .
