Sahm. How Do You Spend Your Day

    Hi moms

    I was a software professional all my life. Even for marriage I took only 2 weeks leave.

    After moving USA m sahm of 3.5yr boy. Though my son keeps me on my toes I still feel bored and watch lots of TV. ( I used to hate watching TV for long time)

    Many of you here, might know I write stories and blogs. Bit in winter my son is really bored n my full day I occupy him.

    Dh leaves home 7am and back 6pm.
    He prepares his own bagel coffee n takes lunch from fridge n leaves locking door.

    Both me n son Wake up 8am or 9am

    8 to 10 both take bath n finish breakfast.

    10 to 1 play date

    1 to 2 he watch TV and both eat lunch.

    2 to 4.30 naptime

    4.30 to 6 he watch TV while I prepare 2 meals one for dinner one for Tomorrow lunch. ( For me n dh I prepare next day lunch previous night. For kiddo I keep fresh rice at 12 n he eats by 1)

    6.30 dh comes n takes over.

    I serve lunch load dishwasher clean kitchen n sit in front of TV till 10.

    M not happy with above routine I still feel bored.

    I am not looking for suggestions. Because I love writing blogs n story but in current routine especially winter not able to fit it.

    I am interested in seeing other fellow h4 sahm moms routine to get some idea or motivation

    Does your kid go to daycare?

    So that you can utilize some time for yourself..

    I never skip the gym.
    Atleast an hour.

    Then I cook breakfast and lunch and I also enjoy doing it as giving home cooked food keeps dh and kids healthy,saves me Money and it makes me feel good when they love it.

    I also do yoga everyday atleast 20 minutes

    Also add in some meditation sometimes..

    I watch food blogs and travel blogs which is refreshing.cut down Instagram,fb and it made a lot of difference in being positive.


    I am very honest to myself about what I want and inwardly always want to be a homemaker but still update myself with small courses and on and off lookout for flexible jobs.if it works out well and good.

    Evening weekly twice kid classes.

    I love cleaning my home and the relaxing environment makes me feel awesome.Most of my blogs these days are fun and positive I feel.Thank god am
    Out of those gloomy day blogs.probably it was mid life crisis ha ha.


    I am greatful to have a lovely home,kid and good husband.In life not everyone have everything but there will be people who will yearn to be in your shoes.So I feel we should be thankful to god everyday as our lives are fine compared to many.


    I love watching movies and songs.

    Sometimes I dance to Zumba.

    I love library books.


    Weekly once grocery shopping.then misc stuff like laundromat,some little stuff to buy,here and there some outing or something will come.

    I talk to my mom everyday for half hour.I feel her hearing me and vice versa is how I start my day.

    Winter days afternoon hot tea and some wholesome meal yum..

    Last but not the least..I am going with the flow of life and loving it!

    Something or the other keeps going honestly..

    Now I might go to India for two weeks and already need to work on my shopping list ha ha :)

    Thanks for the detail description.
    I just moved overseas from India and thinking to take a break from work and spend time with my 5 year old daughter; we both are working ; this thought always take be back..
    I want to have my own time now with my kid and enjoy the every moment with her...
    But as you know how difficult it is to survive in overseas on one income.

    I never said you are unhappy.

    For me..I have also mentioned how I used to be gloomy and staying positive made me feel better.just wanted to put forth that.Yea now am very greatful for what I have now and that was also just added.

    I am enjoying what I am doing which made the difference.I just listed out what I do and thought it might help you coz my life’s is no different,I don’t feel incomplete but I feel better now compared to what I was.

    I don’t know if my post was misunderstood but just thought to help.

    No no I didn't take your reply wrongly.
    In fact I have seen all your threads. I didn't find your reply offending.

    You mentioned we should be happy with what we have as others don't have even this. So thought my post was not clear and clarified m happy about life but just about my current routine of life and feel I should do something productive in my time. In fact I lost 30lbs last summer. From October it got cold n stopped walking.

    I really appreciate your reply. Chill dear.
