Try to have the saffron with milk and in the second trisemester. It is heat so just try to add 3-4 threads of it.It just gives a flavor to the milk

    Sunitha & Other IL's,

I've few questionss regarding Saffron -:idea

    1. From when can we take saffron - I mean from which week of pregnancy?

    2. Daily or once a week should be fine?

    3. I dont drink milk separately instead mix it with horlicks and drink. So should I add saffron to milk and horlicks and sugar and gulp it?

What is ur view on having milk with saffron for the complexion of the baby/??

Hello all the preggies out here...

Congratulations to all of u.. i am 31 weeks into my pregnancy. Due in April. Rite now, my Mom in Law is with me and from the 7th month onwards she started giving me milk with saffron.. I just cannot understand this, how the color of the baby will depend on some food we take? :idea.. so i am confused. But as she is such a lovely MIL and takes care of me like her own daughter, i dont question her.. so i want your view points in this topic.. and those who had babies before, How saffron has helped in their complexion??:crazy

    cheers..!!

Congrats on your motherhood!! Happy to hear that u'r MIL is such a caring person. But, as you doubt, saffron does not add any colour pigments to your baby. It is just a myth. Anyways, there is no harm in drinking milk with saffron (as far as I know)..so you can continue to drink but don't expect it to add fairness to your babe.

dont add more than 2to 3 strands of saffron as the myth say it improves colour if added more it darkens colour.i had taken saffron in the ninth month and maasha allah my kids are really beautiful.no harm in trying,as it has no side effects.all the best.
