Chennai-cares - Chennai Cares... - is a voluntary disaster response civil society initiative by the Citizens of Chennai to support relief efforts in Uttarakhand in 2013 June. They are sending supplies to Uttarakhand flood victims. As of now the below items are required. List of materials needed:- 1. Medicines like pain relievers, headache balms, paracetamol/crocin tablets and first aid kits. 2. Tarpaulin sheets, used flex banners or plastic sheets are needed in plenty. 3. Sanitary napkins with disposable bags and undergarments 4. Cooking utensils such as pans, pots and buckets to store water 5. Candles, water purifier tablets, umbrellas, crutches and ropes 6. Feeding bottles (fresh, not used ones please) and milk powder 7. Torches with batteries 8. Biscuits, dry ration like rice, pulses, cereals, sugar, tea, etc Let’s avoid soiled used dresses. Volunteers needed at Nanganallur for sorting and packing the relief materials:- 1. Tuesday, 25-June, from 11 am 2. Saturday, 29-June, from 11 am 3.
