    Punarpooja:

    This is done the next morning & is given in a short format.
    Do the aachamanam


    Om achyuthaaya namah, om ananthaaya namah, om govindaaya namah


    S(h)uklaambaradharam vishnum s(h)as(h)ivarnam chathurbhujam


    Prrasannavadanam dhyaayaeth sarvavigno(u)pa s(h)anthayae


    Mamopaaththa samastha duritha kshayadvaara s(h)ree paramaes(h)vara preethyartham


    Varalakshmee prasaada siddhyartham varalakshmee punah poojaam karishyae


    S(h)ree varalakshmyai namah aasanam samarpayaami


    S(h)ree varalakshmyai namah Paadyam samarpayaami


    S(h)ree varalakshmyai namah arghyam samarpayaami


    S(h)ree varalakshmyai namah aachamaneeyam samarpayaami

    Naivedyam of thamboolam & fruits:


    S(h)ree varalakshmyai namah karpoora thamboolam samarpayaami


    Neeraajanam:


    Neeraajanam neerajaakshi naaraayana vilasinee gruhyathaam arpitham bhakthyaa


    Garudadhvaja bhaaminee


    S(h)ree varalakshmyai namah karpoora neeraanjanam sandars(h)ayaami


    Sarva mangala maangalyae s(h)ivae sarvaartha saadhikae


    S(h)aranyae thryambikae devee naaraayanee namo(a)sthuthae


    Manthra pushpam svarnapushpam samarpayaami


    Chathra chaamaraathi samastho(u)pachaaraan samarpayaami


    Move the kalsh little towards north chanting the following


    Asmaath bimbaath s(h)ree


    varalakshmeem yathaasthaanam prathishtaapayaami


    S(h)obhanaarthae kshemaaya punaraagamanaaya cha.



    That night, it is customary to keep the amman in arisi panai.

    This photo was taken in my daughter's house last year. She keeps 2 ammans - hers & her MIL's. On the right side is a stone statue of Devi, kept decorated.

    Puja Format - Beginners' guidance.

    Puja Items:

    Pictures of deities

    Turmeric powder

    Kumkum

    Akshathai

    Loose Flowers, garland

    Camphor ( karpooram)

    Agarbathi

    Sandanam ( sandal powder )

    Milk ( little in a cup for naivedyam)

    Lamp, wick, gingelly oil, plate to keep the lamp

    matchbox

    Honey

    Betel leaves, nuts, banana, coconut

    Sugarcandy ( kalkandu) or raisins - for naivedyam

    For daily naivedyam, use either sugarcandy or raisins or 2 tsp milk mixed with a drop of ghee & a drop of honey

    Vessels:

    Panchapathram ( a small cup & spoon)

    Arghyam cup ( any small cup to pour water when doing the upacharams)

    Bell

    Stand for agarbathi

    Niranjanam stand for keeping camphor OR a plate for the same

    1 or 2 plates to keep naivedhyam

    Plate to keep flowers
