Progestromne hormone tablet - Endogest SR 200 during pregnancy- suggestion required

    Hi,
    Currently I am in 5 th Month .My docter suggested Endogest Hormone from my 2 nd month and she asked me to continue till 36 week.
    Please let me know if it will not cause any side effect to baby or me? is there any one taking or had taken the medicine ?

    Hi

    Progesterone is a natural female hormone. Called “the pregnancy hormone,” it is essential before and during pregnancy. SO till 8 -10 weeks your ovaries will be producing this hormone and later ur placenta takes over the job. So doctors prescribe them to avoid any miscarriages. but mostly it will be prescribed only till 13 weeks, am not sure why she prescribed till 36 weeks. its better you ask your doctor.

    I continued progesterone till my 36th week. No harm in taking it if your doctor suggests to take it. I will recommend that you should trust your doctor as the medicine is prescribed on case to case basis based on Patients history
