The 'selection' for the Prime minister was on.There had been a series of tests
and many rounds of discussions and ultimately three were short listed.
Next day was the final test. There was a strong rumour that the king had a magical lock created by clever craftsmen and whoever that unlocked, would be given the post. The three contestants also heard about this.

Two of them acquired lot of reference materials about locks and the whole night they were separately working tediously on complicated mathematical equations. The third person was very much relaxed. The two commented to themselves that it was not the time to waste and relax.
Next morning all assembled in the palace and the king announced the contest.

The first two persons examined the lock well and started referring books for solutions. The third person relaxingly went near the lock, looked at it and just pulled it.To his surprise it opened. In fact it was not locked at all. While the other two were still referring, the king selected the third one as Prime minister. The king said that the first thing a prime minister should do is to know whether a problem really exists or not before trying to solve the same.Otherewise all efforts would become futile.
Here the problem was that lock was not fastened.
The story is symbolic. We feel we are shackled. We feel that we are in bondage. The more we look into ourselves, the more we realise that we are bound by imaginary fears. It is our delusion that our life is bound and this is the delusion that keeps us bound and we are trapped.
Sage Ramana has dealt with illusory problematic mind vividly in his works.

That's another gem from you Mam.

Reminds me of the book homo sapiens by yuval noah harari , wherein he discusses the differences between humans and others. The main difference is the notion of abstract bonding over intangible things eg the country and its country men. The country is just a notion created in our minds and its subscription by all countrymen and others.
Another fascinating aspect which sets us part from all other livingbeings is 'Gossip' according to the book.!

Thank you Madam for the wonderful response.
"The country is just a notion created in our minds and its subscription by all countrymen"
This particular statement makes me contemplate a lot.In fact what we call 'mind' is a wondrous power residing in the Self.Apart from thought ,there is no such thing as mind.

Just as the spider emits the thread out of itself and again withdraws it into self, likewise the mind projects the world of itself and resolves it into itself. When the world appears to be real, the Self does not appear and vice versa.
Though I referred only to imaginary problem, you given a shift to a great philosophy.
    Thank you Madam.
