Hi going to india with 11month old. need solution for avoiding mosquitos in hyderabd. heard that instead of using mosquito repellent spray on infants we can use clip ons can someone recomend a brand which is known to work fine thank you
Sphoo I havent tried clips on. But you can try this link Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Off! Clip-On Mosquito Repellent Set - 1 Repellent + 6 Refills
the brand is OFF...... its coming with one refill i guess... but we can buy the refills separately... i got it in feb when i went to india with my 11 month old.......... please make sure you use the net too .. and make sure you carry this clips on wheereever you going... and make sure you use only one brand of water for the baby.... i use kinley water always boiled ....
Sometimes these repellants work sometimes they do not. I have tried the clip ons, bands, rings etc. at the end of the day you still need to use mosquito nets, odomos (on the walls/bed frames). This is the best remedy. Also most of the NRI kids are allergic to mosquito bites. So be on the lookout for black marks post travel. Hopefully you dont have to face this.
Wow!! Ramya...thats a brilliant idea. Usually i apply odomos liquid on my son when we have to go to somebody else's house in India,in such conditions we cant avoid applying it on our body:-(
@Dinny You can apply it on the bed frames and wipe it off later. Or you can apply it on the clothes instead of the body.
DEET is the best repellent as of now. OFF has DEETin it, I'm not sure abt Odomos but if others have used it and it worked, you might want to try. Any repellent that is safe for children is good, avoid aerosol type. Another thing that we usually forget is- water for brushing teeth should be same as drinking water (no tap water for kiddo) and also watch out for bath time, babies at this age try to drink water/play from bath tub ( mine does). You can also carry OFF aerosol and spray on clothes.
