Dear friends in Singapore, I am in dilemma..... I am 40 yrs old, senior IT prof(with MNC, good credentials) from Bangalore, well settled with a family...thinking of relocating to SG.... Job searches are not fruitful so far after 6 months of try! Consultants here are willing to support me with a handsom fee..... If I take this decision, I need to make lot of arrangements here as well as in SG(start everything from scratch including my husband's business, children's education etc.....) Hi sorry for replying this late, but do you have a job offer currently at hand? Coz I believe the Governement is taking strict measures to restrict inflow of foreigners in Singapore. In case you are currently looking for openings, my suggestion would be to try to visit here for a brief period and fix up appointments to meet as many consultants as you can and then decide what you have. Thank you IndianQueen for the suggestion. Yes, you are right. SG govt is restricting foreign workers from this year. It's unfortunate for me! :-( But, I will give it a try. Right now, I haven't got a job yet. I am searching for one through a consultant (Monster.com.sg). When I get a call for one interview, I will go over there and stay for some time to approach many other consultants. I am not sure how much I will be successful. Regards, MJB

Thanks IndianQueen. I have collected some of the consultant names already and documented them with their contact nos. (Ministry of Manpower Singapore recommended/licensed recruitment consultants) I contacted some them via email, but NO ONE responded! May be, they are not interested in foreign candidates! :-( I will try to contact rest of them too. In the meanwhile, I am trying through various means (JobsDB, Jobstreet, LinkedIn etc....). If there is success, I will come back and update the same here.
As mentioned, try to get interviews while here so you can better your chances of being hired. That's the best way. Good luck!
