Pacheese , Paintheese, Pachaas

Been long time since i posted in snippets so back with a post between my time in Fitness and Gossips.

I was staying in Navi mumbai for work 5 years back . I used to take Auto for my daily commutaton to my office.
Since my offfice was in outer though it was nearby I had to go by fixed amount instead of meter.
Normally Autowallah will charge……. STOP, Before Continuing with my post it is very important to read the glossary below especially for non hindi speakers. So I will wait for you here while you come back

Where were we ??? Yes, Autoperson will ask for painthees and I bargain for theese . This was my normal routine untill one fine day when govt intevened and raised petrol/diesel price.
And Asking price became chaleese and my price was paintheese. One day I was in hurry (which is everyday )and stopped a Auto .

Me to Autodriver: Mahepe ???? and A big pause (It actually means Are you coming to mahepe)
Autodriver to me : Haan Trans : yes
Me to Autodriver : Kitna Trans: How much
Autodriver to me : Pachees
Me to Autodriver : nahi Paintheese
Me to me : **********(Will reveal at the end of the post)
Me to Autodriver : Pacheeeees Ji (With a frustration)
Me to Autodriver : Par wo tho paas ….. Trans : but it is very nearby
Autodriver to me : Blank (But Gave a weird look)
Me to Autodriver : Paintheese tho Haan ya nahi Trans: if it is paintheese
then Yes else No
Autodriver to me : baityee (but with sarcastic smile)
Me to Autodriver : Smile (With triump feeling and smug on my face
I got into the Auto)
Me to me : how this person tried to cheat ( ??????) me . Let me pay him exact change

I counted my coins and notes to get that exact paintheese.

As soon as I reached my office I gave him the change and gave him that HOW-DARE-YOU-TRY-CHEAT look and walked away with victory feeling though I had also noticed the sly smile on that Autoperson’s face.
Something triggered while I was about to enter my cubicle and started counting
Ek ,Dho ,theen,……

Only when I came to pacheese di I realise and was like :bonk.:bonk:bonk.


Me to Me (Revealed) : how dare he cheat me and ask 50 ??

I too keep doing that everytime I think of this episode in my mumbai life

Guess he would have thanked his Lucky stars for sending a customer who argued/baragained/negotiated to pay 10 rs more than he asked

 

Poor me ,,,

Guess that fellow had a hearty laugh looking at me while I was carrying that triumph look in face all the while in the Auto
