    what is bengal gram?

hey which American rice do u use for Dosa batter...i tried Carolina rice(Paraboiled rice)...but due to this shortage m not getting at my end.
and other long grain rice arent good for dosa batter...i.e. i couldnt manage wid Long grain rice for making dosa.

    Hey..

Bengal gram - Kadalai paruppu ( broken beans) .. As asked, we are using self branded paraboiled rice only.

Have a great shopping weekend !!

ok so i was correct abt rice..this paraboiled rice is good for making Dosa...as wid ling grain rice i didnt get regular dosa.

    hey
i brought wheat flour from Giant...and their service is so good...i asked before goin if this flour is available...n without any hesitation they told me too.
i made roti with this flour...but i couldnt make soft roti....do i need to add more oil/ghee...as wid Sujata/Nature fresh i never get this problem.
may be with lil more practice i can make soft roti's.

once again thanks to You! :)

    Hi all,

Still, we are not getting Pillsbury and Sujata atta here in our city.

But the Nirav brand whole wheat flour is very good. Every time i make, I get soft chapathis and parathas. It has excellent flavor and texture too !:drool

Do give this a try if it is available in your area..!:thumbsup

    Cheers
    Krithika

    hi Krithika......long time no see.

seems now sujata will available soon...as in only one shop we saw sujata...so we are hoping that within 1-2 months will available all regular wheat brands.

test is good ....... i also use warm water. but somehow i couldnt make too soft like earlier one i used to make with sujata.
