I love this recipe spuppala :thumbsup You didn't add water while cooking rice & marinated chicken together. Is that right?
hi mithi,am very happy that you liked the recipe thank you.. Regd your doubt,it depends on how well you have marinated the chicken and cooked the rice to correct consistency. If sufficient moisture is there in the marinated chicken and the rice is half cooked propery you need not add any water and it will get cooked properly. alternatively ,you can do this to avoid any accidents to the biryani Cook the chicken first to 80% done and then keep dum..then u need not worry at all

hi spuppala and all.. good to know that u gals r interested in cooking hyd biryani.. i am from hyd... i cook mutton/chicken biryani very often..... i prepare marinate(dont add curd here) and keep it overnight if it is mutton and i am cooking it in the morning itself.. else 4 -6 hrs marination is also fine... just before giving dum u can add curd and mix the marination... u dont need to cook the marination separate..cook rice until it is 3/4th done in separate dish add coriander, mint leaves and spices... drain the rice.. layer that on marination.. sprinkle fried crushed onion, coriander and mintleaves, food color and cook it for 10-15 mins on medium flame.. then shift the dish on tawa with low flame and let it cook for 20 mins... dont open imdtly.. leave it for sometime as it is.. then u can serve...
