Making Kolam Powder

    I have heard the powder used to draw Kolams and Rangolis is rice powder. Could someone please give me steps on how to make it? I am absolutely clueless. :$

    I stated my question clearly, I asked how to make Rice powder for kolams.

    You can buy rice powder from stores and use.There is no need to prepare in home.

    ars, I do not understand what you mean by powder it or mixie. I do not have a mill in my area.

    Mixie is nothing but a blender.. Buy raw rice from any indian shops & powder it using a mixie/blender... Powder it means grind it...tht's it...
    If there is no mill/ blender, go to any indian super markets, and get the raw rice powder.... start using it the same...
    R u asking abt the colour kolam powder...then get the color powder alone from the shops, and then u have to mix the color powder with the raw rice powder...mix it thoroughly...then u'll get the desired color... Hope this clarifies...

    I make Maa kolam..
    This is the receipe
    add some Raw rice (paccharisi) and 1 tsp of urad dhal.and grind in ur blender.
    soak them for half and hr or more. and blend it in ur blender and mixie.. I use mixie.
