Episode 52:


Days were flying. Lekha started managing home by herself and Amar was busy with his work. He managed to come home for lunch whenever possible.

It was around one o clock.

Lekha was busy chopping coriander leaves and she heard Amar’s two wheeler’s sound. She smiled as she heard that.

She sprinkled those coriander leaves on the aromatic rasam and closed it with a lid.

“Smell is very tempting” – Amar stepped in as he removed his helmet

“Is it!!!? Refresh and come! Let’s have our lunch!” – Lekha said as she wiped her wet hands

Both sat together and Amar was served a perfect full course lunch.

“I thought you will manage to cook somehow! But actually you are cooking well.” – Amar

“Really?!!” – Lekha smiled happily

“Yeah. Your mom cooks well right. May be that magic” – Amar smiled

“I have a surprise for you” – Lekha looked at him

“What?!!” – Amar smiled at her

“I am likely to get a job” – Lekha said with at most happiness

“What?!!!” - Amar was too happy to hear that

“Where?!! How?!!” – Amar was getting excited

“I have been applying in the online portals na…So they have got my contact from that” – Lekha continued

“Seems it’s a small start-up!! But it’s exactly my domain!!! Lucky me” – Lekha smiled

“Super dear” – Amar was too happy for her

“Tomorrow they have asked me to come for the final interview. No big procedures since it’s a start up. Attended 2 rounds of telephonic interview” – Lekha said as she washed her plate.

“Awesome! Tell me the company name. Let me google the location!” – Amar said as he took his laptop.

"And by the way, I will drop you tomorrow” – he said seeing the address.

“Its 20 minutes by two wheeler” – he said as his eyes were glued to the screen

“I am very happy” – Lekha smiled heartily

“Yeah! Even I didn’t except you will get job this soon….” – Amar

“Yeah” – Lekha hugged him tight with happiness.

Amar left home after sharing few minutes of happy moments with his lovable wife.


Lekha’s alarm rang at 7.30 and she was still sleeping happily.

“Lekha…….wake up…Its time” – Amar said in a sleepy voice

“Hmmmm..10 minutes….” – she replied back with her half opened eyes

“Today you have interview!!” – Amar patted her shoulders

“Hey yes!” - at once her eyes were fully opened.

“I forgot” – saying this she got down from the bed at once.

“Sorry sorry I forgot!” – She came back, kissed him and ran to the bathroom.

“Lekha….dont be in a hurry! If you can’t prepare breakfast, we can eat out! Don’t strain much” – Amar

“No no! I have kept the idly batter ready! Not a problem” – Lekha

Lekha wore a dark blue cotton salwar. Pinned her stiff shawl on one side of her shoulder and kept her hand bag ready.

“Lekha! We are getting late” – Amar said as he had his last bite if his idly.

“5 minutes!” – Lekha combed her hair and took her hand bag.

“Where are you going?!! Have your breakfast now” – Amar

“Its ok! Will come and have” – Lekha ran towards the main door.

“we are not going out without you eating now” – Amar said in a firm voice

“Sit here” – Amar went to the kitchen, placed three idlies on the plate and two spoons of coconut chutney.

Lekha emptied the plate seeing his so called angry face.

"I ate! Will you smile at me now?" - she looked at him longing for a smile and he kissed her with a wide smile.

“Lock the main gate” – Amar said and Lekha locked it and sat behind him on the two wheeler.

The weather was good and in another 20 minutes, Lekha entered the office.

“Call me when the interview gets over! I will come and pick you up! No matter when it is” – Amar said and waved his hand.

In another 1 hour, Lekha came out of the office and called him. He came there to pick her up.

She was looking beautiful like a angel and Amar smiled to himself as he saw his angel standing at a distance.

Those slightly chubby cheeks. That smooth skin…her wavy hair…everything was looking beautiful.

She looks stunning in this blue salwar..

He stopped his bike in front of her as he smiled thinking of her.

“Why you are smiling?” - Lekha gave him a puzzled look

“Nothing! What happened in the interview” - Amar

“I am selected! Need to join next week” – Lekha gave a wide smile and both were too happy.

“See I know your result! That’s my smiled beforehand” – Amar winked at her.

“Really lucky that I got a job in this town” – Lekha said as she sat on the two wheeler

“Not just luck! You have skills Lekha” – Amar said as he started his two wheeler

Lekha reached home and Amar went back to his office.

Lekha shared the happy news with her parents and friends and everyone congratulated her.

She lied on the sofa with a hearty smile. She kept whiling her time with TV and soon it was evening.

Lekha saw the time and it was already 7. She was looking for him.

She heard his bike sound and ran to the main gate.

“Congratulations madam!!!” – Amar smiled as he gave a huge sweet box.

“Hey sweets!! Thank you! But this much?!!! For whom?’ – Lekha asked as she peeped into the carry bag.

“Am too happy!!! So bought more” – Amar showed his teeth

“But who will have these many” – Lekha gave him an angry stare and he ran into the house kissing her.


It was dinner time and Lekha was in the kitchen.

“Need any help?” – Amar asked as he was watching TV

“No thanks!!! I can manage” – Lekha continued her work.

And in few minutes, Amar sneaked into the kitchen and stood hugging her from behind.

“I am going to eat here” – Amar brushed his cheeks with hers.

Lekha smiled and placed the roti on the plate and poured a ladle of dhal beside it.

“Today you feed me na” – Amar kept an innocent face

Lekha turned off the stove and gave a piece of roti wrapped with dhal.

Amar loved it. Loved the roti. Loved the dhal. Loved that affectionate face which was smiling in front of him.

“By the way Lekha! We might get into fights once you start working. We should tackle it carefully” – Amar said as he chewed the roti.

“Fight? Why?” – Lekha looked at him without understanding anything.

“Actually we both will be in a hurry. You have to manage both home and work. You might get tensed, my responsibilities will get added. Many things are there..” – Amar

“Oh!!!” – Lekha

“We will tackle everything well. Don’t worry” – Amar pulled her nose gently and smiled.

“you know what?” – He looked at her

"What?" - Lekha

"I love you" - Amar said and she smiled.

She was happy. She was happy to the core.

Lekha touched a drop of dhal and placed it on Amar’s nose and ran away from kitchen

“Hey you!!! You know to be naughty as well?” – Amar laughed and ran behind her.

Amar soon caught hold of her and both kissed each other until Lekha realised its time and she need to buy vegetables.

“Sorry sorry! Forgot to buy vegetables! Shall we go now?” – She said looking at the time.

“Won’t you buy everything beforehand? Am already tired” – Amar frowned and Lekha kept a sad face.

“Ok ok! Come” - He wore his slippers and went near his bike.

Soon they bought the required vegetables in the near by super market and came out.

“Lekha….! You got used to the shops here na?!!” – Amar looked at her

“”Yeah but! It’s little far to walk! Other than that, I got used of everything here”

“Other than that you are completely fine with this town right?” – Amar

“Yeah!! Anyway you are there na” – Lekha said as she sat behind him.

"I want you to be independent. Got it?" - Amar said seriously and Lekha frowned with irritation.

"Sit!!" - he said and she sat quietly behind him.


The joining date came soon…Lekha was getting ready!

Time was 8.20 and she has to report at 9.

“Lekha!!! What have you done?!!!” – She heard Amar’s angry voice from outside

She ran to the main gate puzzled.

“What happened?” – she was nervous as she has not seen him getting angry on her.

“See here” – he yelled.

Lekha looked outside the main gate!

There was a brand new two wheeler beaming at Lekha

“Heyyyyyy” – Lekha couldn’t realise what is happening

“Whats this?’ – she shook his arm

“My gift for you!! Here are the keys” – Amar smiled at her and Lekha hugged him in happy tears

“You can drive this today!!! I mean from today…It will be easy for you na” – Amar said holding her chin.

Lekha replied him with happy tears peeping from her eyes.
