You are right dear. Their relationship is beyond misunderstandings. But that doesn't mean that they won't have worst fights. Emotional burst is common I think.

Episode 42:


Rathna’s eyes were watering. Time was 12.30 and her phone rang.

She grabbed it at once without even delaying a second.

It was Jaanvi. There appeared a faint smile on Rathna’s lips.

“Hello….” – Rathna

“Happy birthday to you…” – all the three sang in chorus and Rathna smiled.

“Sorry sorry! I set the alarm late. My mistake. Actually we have planned to call at 12 sharp."– Lekha said

“No problem dear”- Rathna smiled

"We thought you will be busy in office. That’s why dint call you in the evening” - Lekha added

“So! How was the day!!! What was the surprise from Khaveer?” - Sandhya asked eagerly

“Big surprise for sure. Right?”- Jaanvi asked with enthusiasm.

“Yes. Very big surprise”- Rathna smiled

“I know. He always surprises you” – Lekha smiled

“Yes. Never thought of such a surprise” – Rathna tried to smile.

She dint want to tell anything about Khaveer’s anger. So she tried to keep it smooth.

“Come on tell me na…what was the surprise.” – Sandhya asked again.

Before Rathna couldn’t think of any imaginary surprise, she heard the calling bell.

“Hey! Shall we talk tomorrow? Someone is pressing the calling bell. It should be my roommate.” –Rathna tried to get away.

“Ok ok dear. Sleep well. Even we are sleepy” – Sandhya laughed

“Good night every one!!! Love you. And thanks once again”- Rathna hung the call.

She once again heard the calling bell.

As she walked towards the main door, she saw all her room mates in place. Everyone has reached home already?

I dint even notice who has reached and who hasn’t.

But who is outside then?!!! May be someone’s boyfriend? A surprise delivery or something? Someone’s birthday? Rathna’s mind was working faster than light.

She slowly looked through the peep hole.

She couldn’t see the face. Someone has kept the bouquet in front of his face. She couldn’t figure out. And he pressed the bell once again and the girls started yelling “Rathna…what happened?!! Open the door na….”

“Yeah yeah” – Rathna replied back.

She slowly opened the door and at once the person knelt down in front of her.

“Wishing you a very happy birthday my love” – he showed her the bouquet, waiting for her to receive. Rathna looked at the roses. A bunch of orange roses with dark green leaves all around.

Rathna stood still while tears were running over her cheeks. She wept seeing his face.

“Idiot…..” – She cried.

“Am sorry dear….” – he said seriously

“I won’t get the bouquet! Go” – Rathna wiped her tears

“Sorry dear. I know what I did was beyond forgiving. How silly I have been... but I don’t know dear…I became upset when I couldn’t wish you first. And I have showed my anger towards you. I have been so stupid to spoil your birthday mood. Sorry” – Khaveer said sincerely

Rathna always had a habit. When Khaveer asked sorry, she will forgive him at once and there won’t be no more arguments over that. Khaveer never asks sorry unless and until he really means it. So whenever he asks sorry, Rathna forgives him at once.

“Hmmmm….come in” – Rathna replied as she got the bouquet from him.

“Me coming in?!!! You come out” – Khaveer smiled at her

“Wait. I will change my dress” – Rathna stepped in.

“Wear this and come” – Khaveer gave her a new dress which was inside a plastic carry bag.

Rathna smiled as she got it and came out in 5 minutes.

“Come come. Sit” – Khaveer was already sitting on his bike

Rathna sat behind him and at once he started driving.

“May I know where are we going sir?” – Rathna patted his shoulders

“You will know soon. Till then enjoy the drive” – Khaveer replied

The soothing temperature was getting romantic and Rathna kept smiling thinking of her Khaveer.

After an hour of drive, both got down. There were standing on the hills.

“I am still angry you” – Rathna said seriously

“I deserve that. You can be angry” – Khaveer smiled

“Idiot!!! Why did you do like this?!!! How can be so rude?” – Rathna kicked him hard and Khaveer smiled

“Stupid!!!” – She slapped him gently

“Am waiting. Still any more anger to be showed?” – Khaveer showed his teeth

“Idiot!!!” – Rathna hugged him.

We may easily get angry on our loved ones. But how long that sustains matters a lot. Love overcomes everything. Else its not love.

Rathna tightened her hugh and there were few tear drops on her cheeks.

“Hmmm sorry once again. I know I spoiled your day. That’s why I booked flight tickets and came running. Thought I should make this midnight a special one.” – Khaveer said and Rathna was listening quietly.

“Today you are stepping into your 26th year and I will make sure that you will be bombarded with beautiful moments for next one year” – Khaveer said softly

“By the way finished crying? Any more slaps or kicks saved for me?” – Khaveer bent and looked at her face.

“Over” – Rathna wiped her tears and smiled at him happily

“Save the slaps and kicks! I will do lots of stupid stuffs in future. By then slap or kick me or do whatever you want” – Khaveer laughed at Rathna

“You idiot!!!! You are saying you will repeat his again?” – Rathna pulled his shirt

“Of course! May be not exactly. But something like this. We are human beings Rathna! We are prone to making mistakes. And what today I did was childish!!! Who knows what I will do in future” – Khaveer looked at her

Rathna gave him an angry stare.

“I might or might not repeat such mistakes. I am human and I will do mistakes. But one thing that will never change in my life. That is you!!! Your part in my life….That is the most special one. My love for you will never change. I might fight, hurt, trouble, but everything will be momentary. Nothing will last. My love for you will be forever. So please keep forgiving this poor guy” – Khaveer kept his palm on her cheeks and Rathna was in happy tears.

“Love you” – she said quietly

“Don’t I know” – he smiled

As Rathna wiped her tears, he lit a small candle on a small bun.

“What?” – Rathna smiled seeing that

I did not want to miss my flight. So couldn’t risk going to a bakery. Just grabbed this bun and this small candle.

“Happy birthday” – Khaveer smiled at her keeping the candle in front of her face and Rathna gave a charming smile.

Rathna looked around. It was dark, chill, hills, Khaveer, her birthday and this candle light.

She was the happiest soul on the moment.

How things change in a day?!!! She was the saddest few hours ago. Now she is the happiest and luckiest….. – Rathna smiled at herself.

“Thank you darling” – She looked at Khaveer.

After few minutes, both emptied that bun and sat quietly rubbing their shoulders.

The moon was bright and Rathna’s face was glowing with happiness.

“Get up!!!” – Khaveer

“Why” – Rathna looked at him

“Come on girl” – he pulled her

He slowly took a small pouch from his pant pocket.

“Happy birthday my love” – he took a thin gold bracelet and wore it on her right hand

“Heyyyyyy when did you buy this!!!” – Rathna was surprised

“Secret!!! Like the design?” – He looked at her

Rathna looked at the bracelet with her mobile light.

It was a stylish thin chained bracelet which had few white stones embedded on it.

“Lovely” – She smiled at him

“But I feel I have seen this somewhere” – Rathna looked at the bracelet keenly and Khaveer kept smiling at her.

“Few months back when we went to shopping, you said you like this design” – Khaveer

“We bought a ring for your colleague. By then is it?” – Rathna

“Yes. We were looking at many jewels and you said you like this design. So bought for you by then itself. Even billed it in front of you. You dint notice” – Khaveer smiled

“What...” – Rathna was dumbstruck and Khaveer kept smiling at her with all his love dripping through his eyes.

“Idiot” – Rathna hugged him tight and looked into his eyes and said

“Love you to the moon and the back”.
