Environment day is observed every year on June 5th. Environment can be defined as the surroundings in which we live. Birds, animals, water, mountains and sky all comes under Environment. To maintain all these in good condition, the process of conservation is a must. Let’s make some little effort in order to protect the environment.

    · Act towards minimising air, water and sound pollution.

Reduce the use of crackers, minimise garbage, segregate degradable & non degradable waste, avoid dumping near water bodies, participate in cleaning works, adapt to car- pooling and cycling, plant more trees, include Ashoka trees.

    · Try to install solar plant and use solar power as far as possible.

This can be installed in households too. Basing on the requirement, the size can be altered and fixed in a suitable place in the terrace.

    · Use gadgets only for purposeful activities.

Technology needs to be put to use with care &concern for the nature.

    · Electricity can be used in a limited way by switching to more natural form than electric appliances. Like opting for a brick chimney, consuming no power, making no sound and requiring no cleaning. (concept from an article of Architect Sathya Prakash Varanashi who works on eco-friendly designs)

    · Support the groups that organise awareness camps & campaigns.

Participate in nature walks and talk shows about conserving wildlife, restoring sanctuaries, Zoos, Parks & beaches.

    · Get to know more about techniques and ways to save environment.

Rain water harvesting & avoiding plastics are the major ones in this regard.

    · Minimise paper waste and don’t teach children about use & throw.

    · Practice recycle, repair, re use.

    @Cheeniya

Beware! I am going to send a complaint to the pollution control chairperson to keep an eye on you saying this person is polluting the roads of our Singra Chennai by spitting on the road every day.

    :hello:@Anusowmyan
The concept & the ideas and suggestions and the resolves of some of our senior IL 'ites are wonderful and commendable. Unless consumption becomes frugal world is going to approach death faster.
Every new gadget found in the name of comfort ultimately going to spoil the Nature.
What is considered safe and innocuous today, tomorrow it is found dangerous, hazardous and or carcinogenic.
Ultraviolet rays harmful to ozone layer and to human eyes and skin. Solar panels converting this day to energy might turn out to be deadly by some one. Microw wave tower needed for mobile phone. But birds population dwindles around metros.
    THANKS regards.
    GOD BLESS US all always.

:hello:in almost all buildings staircase landings or near landigs, one would find floor or and wall covered with ochre spray - spat from dabbawalas, hawkers, vendors etc., even from moving buses sigle and double deckers or when bus slows down commuters would spit right left centre through the windos.
This place YES you have guessed it correctly ' it is financial capital of BHARAT - MUMBAI (Bombay).
This place is considered to be HQRs for world environmental year.
    Thanks and regards.
