Instant Paddu

    Ingredients
    1 cup Sooji/Rava
    1/2 cup sour Curd
    1 tsp rice flour
    1 big Onion,finely chopped
    1 Carrot,grated
    1/4 cup grated fresh Coconut
    3 tbsp chopped Coriander
    1/4 cup dill leaves chopped
    1 tsp Green chilli paste/ red chilli powder
    1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
    1 tsp Eno/Fruit salt optional
    1/4 tsp Cooking Soda
    Salt to taste

    Heat rava in pan for 3 min in medium flame.
    Cool it and add curd , little water, rice flour and soda to it . Mix well and keep aside for 30 min.
    Now add grated carrot, onions, dill leaves , chilli paste , jeera and salt. Mix it to dosa batter consistency .

    Now heat paddu pan pour little oil for it . Add the batter and wait until it turns golden brown and turn the other side and heat for some more time !
    Serve it with any chutney.

    These are appams right ? That’s a good recipe. Is eno necessary ?

    @Sandycandy Yes it is also called Guntaponganalu or Kuzhi paniyaram.
    Yes if you add soda then eno is optional .

    I know kuzhi paniyaaram s but never tried with Rava.

    Sandycandy is ENO not good to use ?

    Tbsp is tablespoon
    You can use chiroti rava (very fine rava )

    isnt idli rava very fine rava? i dont think i have this chiroti rava..i will have to buy next time.

    What a coincidence! I too posted an image of Paddu a few minutes ago. Had I seen your post I wouldn't have posted that.

    Good recipe. I generally use Dosa batter.

    Hi @Gouri9 Where do you stay ?

    Idly rava is the one which can be substituted for rice when making normal idlies.
    Chiroti rava is finer than or medium rava (Krishna rava ) and Bansi rava .
