Hi, I read and heard the news today that an Indian couple have had their children taken away by Norwegian social workers because they were feeding them with their hands and sleeping in the same bed as them. Anurup and Sagarika Bhattacharya lost custody of their three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter eight months ago after Norway authorities branded their behaviour inappropriate. Whats happening?
Well, I guess western culture sees bringing up of children slightly differently. Child services in London prohibits parents from being too strict with the kids, they find it harsh and scarring. I even read in a toddler help book about the word naughty or yummy not to be used casually in the presence of the child. They don't find some of our customs as being healthy for the kids. I just feel they have their points when it come to hygiene, but not all of it can go by books and research studies.
