Hypo-pigmented Burn Scar

Scar is a few months old and is quite big, no keloid, not glossy, the scar is just paler than my son's skin. DS has been putting Polysporin ointment on it but it's taking a while to return to its normal colour. I'm scared after reading some says theirs never returned to its normal tone ever since their childhood accident.

I'm looking at buying a UVB lamp and this gel called Novitil. I just find it annoying though that the gel is manufactured here in Toronto, Canada but the only site selling is from the Netherlands. My pharmacist is not familiar with it as well.

Anyone successfully treated this kind of scar before? How about ginger like another website say? or a similar or better product than Novitil? I want the most effective one before it's too late. Thanks.
