    HI,
    how to make the south indian jangerry(called jelabi in chennai)
    the soft orange ones..
    not the hard ones..
    I know its made of urad dhall,does anyone know the receipe..

    hi smartgirl,
    2 days before i prepared jilebi..........i prpared it using maida.........
    recipe is.........
    maida,curd,sugar,soda,yellow food colour

    in shallow vessel take 1 cup maida n add 1 spoon curd.then using water make batter n add yellow food colour.keep this for 3-4 hrs.then fill this batter in squeeze bottle or sauce bottle.heat oil in frying pan n make jilebis in it ,fry till golden n take out.in another vessel make 2 string syrup,add jilebi's in it n soak for 10-15 mins.then take out n serve.

    I saw your jelabi recipe.
    It seems easy.Thanks for the recipe
    can you give me some tips if you know.
    will they come crispy ??pls tell me this because the prefer crispy ones:cry:
    how much maida and curd is used to make it for 40 people atleast 2 per head i.e; 80 small jelabies.
    can you tell me if you know,thanks in advance
