how easy are the second marriages?

Hi,
One of my cousin married at the age of 21 , from tht time onwards inlaws harrasmment started. after 5 years of marriage she took divorce through mutual consent (she did not have any kids from 1st) and she again got married at 29 .second was a very happy marriage . Now she has a 3 year old daughter and carrying for the second time.
For second marriage, she married her brothers friend (distant relatives too) .
Another lady who i know had a bad marriage first time and second she got even more horrible and cunning guys. second marriage broke of after 10 -12 years bearing.She now feels that the first one was much better and should have adjusted some how..
One needs to be very careful for the second time.
