Did you know that South Asians(men and women who trace their origins from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka)are genetically predisposed to heart disease? Poor dietary and sedentary lifestyles put South Asians at increased risk for heart attacks. The mission of the South Asian Heart Center at El Camino Hospital is to reduce the high incidence of coronary artery disease among South Asians, and save lives, through a comprehensive, culturally-appropriate program incorporating education, advanced screening, lifestyle changes, and case management.

As part of our outreach program, the South Asian Heart Center is conducting a heart disease screening for women on Saturday February 25, 2012 at Los Gatos. You may qualify for a free screening as well.

Make sure you register early to take advantage of this screening program! Details are in the attached flyer. For further information or to register for the event, go to www.southasiancenter.org or call 650-940-7242.We look forward to seeing you there!
