H4 - Opening Bank Account Without Ssn

    Hi all,
    I like to share my experience on opening a bank account. I dont have SSN and just wanted to have a separate bank account. My DH also said it would be nice to have one, so that once I get EAD, if I already have a account with the bank, its easy to get a credit card. So after some research, I was able to open the bank account here successfully.
    All you need is your passport and address proof in your name- preferably lease agreement or cable bill. No need of SSN. I just walked in to the bank and got it done. Received debit card the same day.
