Apple gift cards
Thanks guys, really appreciate the suggestions.
I havent bought that expensive a gift , so I am lacking in ideas.
So will read the suggestions.
Curious to know your final choice
Any pricey gift you give them will have to be carried back and they'll have to pay customs. It may prove to be more of a headache than it's worth.
I agree with Mr R. Experience is the way to go. Something related to their interests would be awesome. Ask your sister for suggestions. Or, like @shravs3 suggested, you can browse their SM.
Whatever you do, make an effort to meet them personally and thank them. That's what's most important.
Let's be close friends. Please.
Hahaha! It is so cute.
Leaning towards the Apple gift card for them and the rest of the gifts for myself and DH. : )
The range is higher for me too, usually give that only to niece or nephew getting married, but this family's help was invaluable.
Just noticed this thread.
Electronics depreciate very fast. Evanescent objects used, cast aside, and forgotten mark neither gratitude nor friendship. A favor remembered deserves (demands?) an object enduring.
I'd find an artist on Etsy and have something made that's one of a kind - say, par exemple, a gyuto, santoku, and petty set, (or just one of them, if you want to go all out!) personalized in a way that is meaningful to both you and them. A present that reaffirms your connection, they would be - or at least, ought to be - heirloom objects. Your friends would think of you every time they cook (if they do!). What could be better than breaking bread across the seas?
Besides, should the need arise, they could stab their enemies with it.
Hmm... I'll have to look up "a gyoto, santoku, and petty set" : ) I have done the personalized gift thing on etsy and other websites, but honestly, the mind boggles at spending that much on a personalized gift. : )
Will ask my sister who knows them more closely.
This thread has become a veritable collection of things I'd like to receive!
