    He was a clarinet player and father of Sri A.K.C. Natarajan.

    All students of carnatic music sing his famous composition, "Sambasiva ennavey in raagam Khamas.

    Here Smt. E. Gayathri teaches the song on the Veena

    Cittoor Subramanya PiLLai (1898- 1975)
    He was head of the Music Department in Annamali Univeristy and guru of Sri Madurai Somasundaram.
    he composed music for many of Sri Annamacharya keerthanas, one of the well known is "Narayanathey".

    Here is his own composition Mathura nagarilo in raagam Ananda Bhairavi.

    Here is another beautiful song in Lalitha..a relatively rare raga

    ps:Added a sikkils video ..something was wrong with the ending of the prev video.

    Enna azagaana paatu... I had to respond in my mother tongue. (What a beautiful song!).
    Lalitha is such a beautiful raagam.
    I wanted a daughter just so I can name her "Lalitha"

    I am amazed reading about this lady genius.
    Here is an excerpt from the web page devoted to her - D Pattammal: Carnatic Ragas, Carnatic music composor
    • She has composed the lyrics for Thiruvilayadal Puranam, Kumarasambhavam, Sri Harisaram and the life history of 63 Nayanmars.
    • She has also composed songs exclusively for little children and beginners under the title 'Karnataka Isai Thuvakka Padalgal'
    • In all she has composed 658 songs in Tamil, including songs in rare ragas like Rukmambari and Sukapavani as well as songs set to the Panchanadai and drimadhyamam beats
