This is the first time I heard this song. So soothing. And DKP's clear diction was a feast to the ears.
I looked it up and I believe this raaga, Ahiri, is difficult to master.

 

The Veena is an instrument I deeply love and Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh is an artiste I immensely admire. Vasantha is a ragam I can go on listening for n number of hours -



I think Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh easily wins this round of Vasantha

@kkrish my fil used to talk about some hearsay story on ahiri.ahiri paadinaal bojanam kidaikadhu. I feel it is a karuna rasa and being so involved you forget hunger.

I thank him always for initiating me into carnatic music and making me progress form gnanasunyam to a kelvignanam

There is something so fascinating anout the veena i love it so much. Wish i could have learnt it and when i thought of doing it could not sit for sadhana for long.
