That's exactly what I thought too! Not so funny part was their question to my DH - now we have a dog, so when you guys come next time, how will Rihana manage. !! : ) What I didn't ask was - how does the dog go #1. That can't be taken of by newspaper like #2. I have a feeling I don't want to know. : )
Sorry @Sparkle...Oh boy I am frustrated with B and pets. Mainly coz that wasn't even the focus of me crying and feeling blaahhh... I have been made to justify repeatedly about water bowl, litter box and which angle it had to pass and the way cat wanted to get out of the room is rather frustrating Maybe I am overreacting to anyone who says B. My apologies.
@jskls, thanks for the tag. This is a subject close to my heart. Having been on both sides (guest/pet owner) of this issue, I have plenty to say. Animals, particularly dogs, are territorial. It is their job to protect their home and family from intruders. Guests are intruders. The dog is doing his job when he growls at the guest. I am leery of other people's dogs. If you aren't wary, reading these articles may change your mind: Kerala: 65-year-old woman mauled to death by stray dogs Neighbor describes dog attack on woman killed in her backyard Neighbors complained at least 11 times about owners of dogs that mauled South Dallas woman Three-day-old baby boy dies after being bitten on the head by family dog while his mother slept Newborn baby boy is mauled to death by family dog It is hard to tell what will provoke an otherwise well-behaved pet. Many pet owners would like their guests to believe they can control their pets. As a guest, when I see the host cannot seclude their pet for an evening, why would I believe they are capable of controlling the animal if it attacks? A good pet owner knows that any animal is unpredictable around strangers. IMHO, a person's attitude toward the pet often depends on who has the power in the relationship. If the guest is the pet owner's boss, Fido gets locked up; if the guest is the subordinate, Fido roams free. Similarly, if the host is a subordinate, the guest has an insurmountable phobia; if the host is the boss, the guest finds a way to deal. What about my own dog? He was an angel. Seriously though, we kenneled him when we entertained. .
If I were you I'd be thankful that the pooch was at least 'toilet'-trained instead of dropping a deuce wherever it pleased.
Every time you justified, I only see how much you love your pets bp. Even your username is "blindpup", which conveys the same feelings. In case you posted such a thread in a non-Indian forum, the responses would have been more supportive of pets and pet owners. Anyways, its been a informative thread. Next time I have to face a pet, I will be slightly more considerate.
