Don't say that you didn't get a text of a party invite when they didn't send you one. They'll take your phone and go through all your texts just to make sure you are telling the truth.
They will go to the extent that they told your husband about the party and it's not their fault if your husband forgot to inform you. Both the parties know that it's a lie.
