I guess good times, bad times, issues in marriage are common across the board when it comes to marriages. Everyone has them to varying extents.

Astrological predictions while being a guiding factor cannot be a determining one in dealing with these. The simple reason is it is dependent on too many variables (the time of birth not being precisely recorded, the astrologer's expertise etc.) any one of which could easily go wrong. Hence it cannot be a guarantee of a smooth ride all along. And no matter how perfectly matched, no one can have a completely smooth ride without any issues whatsoever.

Personally, although my parents and pil believed very strongly in astrology, my dad did not check horoscopes. I told him I did not want the stars and a piece of paper to determine my future. What was the use if I had to let a very nice guy go only because the horoscopes did not match or had to compromise on the guy just because the horoscopes matched perfectly? We too like everyone have our ups and downs, but ultimately it boils down to how one deals with these issues and sorts them out (when it is in one's control) or just digs one's heel in and waits for problems to pass.

Strangely enough our family astrologer got his daughter married and she lost her husband when she was pretty young. Would he not have matched their horoscopes? Then why did this happen? I guess there are many things which are simply meant to happen and no human being can stop it from happening or defy what is a Divine Will.

Those who don't believe in it.. will say its immaterial to them.
Those who do believe in it, will end up overlooking the important areas because destiny has a major role to play.. whatever has to happen will happen... you may just delay it or reduce the intensity.

Post mortem analysis of a marriage can be done by almost all astrologers to its proximity and link ups and then you end up wondering why such insights were missing at the first place... back then maybe you dint meet the right astrologer or did the right remedy... or one may be at their high that you're the ruler of your destiny.

My expereience is my horoscope and H horoscope says we wont get seperated but we are seperate. They say we can live together if I try to adjust but the fact is he is not at all adjustable....might be possible for some deaf and dumb uneducated ones but no meaning of such life.

Seeing horoscope of my uncle and aunt....astrologer said its not correct to match such ppl....but are happy and successfully married for 35years:).

Its just we need to decide what we want in our life.

Agree with the posts above. Its all how you see it.
My parents and in-laws are strong believers. I don't exactly believe it, but I respect their belief in it.
And as always, there are ups and down in everyone's lives. Love marriages that have not consulted the horoscope part have been successful and arranged marriages that went by the rule book have ended badly.

Finally enough it all comes down to people - especially the couple, as to how they try and manage each other.

It should be nothing but a guide. When one starts living his/her life by it - like it were the only rule book - they tend to ignore the human factor altogether, in some ways that is like forgetting reality and resisting its consequences. That will not help at all. Just roll with what ever comes your way and pray for courage to deal with it.

I have come to understand that for a believer, his belief is everything. They find non-believers ridiculous. And it's just the vice versa for non-believers. And there is a group hanging in between. The group that is 'unsure'. I suspect you belong to this group, that's why you are seeking an opinion out here. If you had belonged to the former two, you wouldn't have bothered to raise the question at all because you already know the answer.

According to me, there is no one single answer to your question. If you really need one, just ask yourself what you would like to hear from others. That would be the answer that would suit you.

I would say go by your heart more than the astrologer words. Sometimes, people look for good predictions in horoscopes when they are facing tough time in life. That is understandable as it gives them consolation. But deciding important matters in life solely on horoscopes means not believing in oneself,IMO.

When some parents check the same horoscope with 3-4 astrologers and get contradictory opinions, which one should you believe? It becomes a waste of time, money and brings stress to the parties involved.

Go by intelligence and confidence.I guess it depends on individual. If a person , wants to make his/her marriage work , they will put in all efforts inspite of what astrology says. For a non-believer of astrology he/she believes in his/her capabilities. But for some, astrology could be used as an excuse too.

    Hi,

I dont believe in them but my Family strongly believes in astrology. Mine was a Love marriage and when they matched our horoscope the guy told my mom that I will die very soon after the weeding. I told my Mom that I am willing to die happily after a year of wedding than not having a happy life at all..they did some pooja for her satisfaction. We are happily married for 4 yrs now and I am still alive :) I do keep nagging my husband that if he fights with me then he is in line for a bad second wife .

Astrology can be believed to an extent. Each astrologer has different set of rules and different calc methods.
