Dilemma Regarding Elementary School

At my son's school, yes, they all go out during recess. They have 3 recess. My son is also very shy, it takes him time to make friends. In his classroom, kids switch tables and are in a new group every other week. That way they get to mingle with all 20 kids. Will any other kid from her daycare go to the same public school? My son was glad to see another girl from his daycare in the same kindergarten class. they have been inseparable all year.

@nuss Thats nice..We changed her to a new school few weeks before. So, I think some kids will attend the same public school. I will try to get playdates with them. My DD does not mingle much in the class. i.e she will not initiate talks and prefers to play by herself.

Nobody will call you worry wart . Yours is the normal concerns and worries of the mother of a preschool child.
My son was extremely shy,when he started School here. Also he was not speaking much English because we always talk in our native language at home.I was worried like hell,when he started School. But let me assure you, these kids are better than we give them the credit for. They will pick it up and mingling with each other in no time. Below link may help you.

Yes @Mehana , thinking of enrolling in swimming classes this summer. Can you recommend other extra classes that can help with concentration issues?

After reading your OP, I agree with @anika987 's suggestion of a Montessori - this will help your child ease in many ways and help you as a parent to understand her and her learning style better! Hope you find a school that suits her and you. Best wishes.

Thank you @Srama. I looked at Montessori schools in my area and found 1 school that had elementary level (upto 12 years).

Please do pay attention to what other ILs have said - I am a teacher and I understand your concerns. Holistic development of child is very important and you are in the right direction, emotionally (seeing your OP) and taking the required step (checking various options). Very often, I find myself sighing in the classroom when I feel helpless as a teacher - but I don't give up. So far at least Remember you and the teacher are a team working for the growth of your child and all will be well! Best wishes.

If you go to your city hall website they have recreation and classes, under this page you can view all categories of classes with different age groups. Dependig on your kids interest you can try.
