Hiya Ladies, Here is the recipe of Cocoa / Chocolate burfi that i did some time ago. I had taken the pics but never got time to actually jot down the recipe. Thank Lord i had the Ingredient list which i juggled up from some document file in my lappy. Here are the Ingredients Khoya/Milk Powder - 1 Lbs Cocoa pwdr - 6 Tbsp Ghee - 1 Tbsp Sugar pwdr - 3/4 cup Filling Grated Coconut - 1/4 cup Paneer - 1/2 cup chopped raisins - 1/4 cup Chopped cashews - 1/4 cup Chopped Almonds - 1/4 cup Sugar - 1/4 cup Elaichi powder - 1Tsp And the procedure goes as below. 1. Grate Paneer and mix up all the ingredients mentioned under Filling list. I know its bit on high calorie end, but swallowing up couple of pieces wont harm. 2. If you are using Milk powder instead of khoya u might have to dry heat the powder for 5 minutes under low flame. As you all know the dry milk powder has some kind of raw smell. If you are using khoya, put your hands in best use and knead khoya, ghee, cocoa powder and sugar powder into fine homogeneous mixture. 3. Once Khoya mixture is ready just flatten it into a rectangular shape and fill in the paneer filling and form a triangular shape. Now, the shape is your convenience. You can form a square, tubular or any other polygons if you are good at it . 4. Once done throw it in fridge and let it set for about 30 minutes. Bring it out and cut into 3/4 inch thickness and relishhhh!!
Hi, Yummy burfis sukanya ! I love trying recipes which r simple and fast to prepare and reasonably less ingredients required.I will surely try this at the earliest,as my hubby loves anything chocolaty thanks for sharing, sudha
Sukanya the presentation is good and the color contrast of the filling against the outer layer is superb!! Mehana I use Nido Fortified full cream milk powder for sweet recipes...The results are good.
Thanks Shubag and Mehana . @Mehana :Yes, you can use Nido milk powder. Just make sure u add right quantity of water while using milk powder. Consistency should be more like chapati dough.
