There is some hitch between you & bread :-( If properly made, a stuffed parata will bloat even on a tava!~!
Dear Chitra Mam, I want thank you lakhs of time. My DH dont like idli at all always want to have dosa. With your unconventional method of idli batter making helped me to make ultra soft idli. I am glad that he is ready to idli anytime now. Till now I have tried thrice and I am successful all the time. I have to thank you for this. :thankyou2: Durga
Dear Durga, Special thanks for the idli FB. Once an idli-recipe clicks for you, do not ever change it!
Chithmam, I made spring roll dosa for dinner yesterday. the kids loved it., but FIL relished it. it is so easy to make when all the ingredients are at home.
Dear Chithra, The problem is, I should not try anything like bread when R is at home, he will keep on calling me for something or other and I tend to forget about my work. I had a little aloo left over from yesterday's breakfast and I made ragi dosai and spread a little on one half of the dosa (after cooking both sides) and half a slice of cheese over it, folded and slightly cooked both sides again. It was so good, it could be given for packed food for kids. This would really make a heavy lunch. Here after, I shall make this too. Made bread upma for breakfast today. the bread was apt for this, it was a little dense so not very dry. I am making bread upma after a long time, so enjoyed eating it- especially as the bread was home made.
Chithmam, I made apple +cinnamon muffins..they were perfecttttt..i had some raisins, so attempted the raisin muffins..only glitch was self raising flour did not :idea to the brain.I was wondering about it not having both baking powder or soda..but also thought maybe the milk/vinegar will do the trick..as usual, baking is not kind to goofing...so the muffin was not so perfect..it did not raise..maybe i have to try it again sometime later..
If I remember right, I have given ragi oothappam with potato. Yesterday I made bread-butter pudding with left over brown bread & sent to Kumar's house. The boys love it. Along with that I sent fusili with pesto sauce - the green colour intrigued them no end!! Only if there is home made bread, we tend to do bread upma, pudding etc!! Thanks, Varloo.
Good & sorry, Shan. You rightly pt it that baking is not forgiving to changes!! You got atleast cinnamon-apple muffins well:thumbsup
Dear Chithra I made Methi Lapsi Bhaath yday nite. came out really well. It was so different from the usual lapsi upma. We loved it with curd. I think the recipe given was not complete. pls check it. Love Shobana
