    Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Certification from The Chartered Alternative Investment managemnt Association

    The CAIA designation is the standard for professionals within this specialist area of investments, demonstrating an individual’s abilities within and understanding of alternative investment vehicles.

    AIMA - CAIA Designation

    'Alternative Investment' : An investment that is not one of the three traditional asset types (stocks, bonds and cash). Most alternative investment assets are held by institutional investors or accredited, high-net-worth individuals because of their complex nature, limited regulations and relative lack of liquidity. Alternative investments include hedge funds, managed futures, real estate, commodities, foreign currencies(FOREX) and derivatives contracts.

    I thought real estate is highly regulated by all the States. Do you think Forex would qualify too as Alternative Investment as it is complex?

    @Viswamitra u r right. forex too would qualify as Alternative Investment. yes Real estate is highly regulated by all states either directly or indirectly bcz of its complex & controversial nature.

    Your contribution to IL is commendable. I see many useful threads on alternate courses started by you.

    You can make your threads more useful by giving some description and relevant info about the information you post. For example: you post come courses about commerce, you can also mention who can go for the course, which career path will that lead them on and so on.

    Then see the queries and responses pour in.
