I am not very familiar about Chennai but have heard about the usual saree shops like Nalli’s , Kumaran’s , Pothy’s, RMKV etc. But I am looking for boutique saree and salwar shops which have individual and unique saree and salwar selections. I am interested in the following kind of Sarees materials for partywear: 1. Uppada Sarees 2. Kota Zari Sarees 3. Paithani sarees 4. Benares sarees – not Brocade but Zari 5. Maheswari Sarees 6. i am not sure about boutiques in chennai, but i know few online boutiques where u can find some really good stuff..search in web for bunsi boutique or rachels boutique..i got few partywear from these boutiques.. hope this helps
You can check out MANMANDIR BOUTIQUE SILKS AND SAREES in Nungambakkan and also VARSIDHI in Kilpauk. Even CHANDIRAMS in Spencers Plaza has a good collection of Indian designer wear.

an123. Shilipi- in Madras Alwarper Nalli Next both have beautiful saris and outfits. little expensive, but unique. My cousin did her daughter's wedding shopping there last month. I buy my sarees in Shilpi. Beautiful silks. Good luck and enjoy shopping.
