Blacking Out Of Neck During Pregnancy, Is It Common?

    Hi Ladies,
    I am in my final trimester (35+ weeks), have observed that my neck has turned completely dark ; mostly behind and noticeable in the front too. Reduced my complexion on face, but especially neck has turned very dark. Is this common during pregnancy ? or has any one has similar experience. Its my first pregnancy and am learning all the changes that happens. This just started about a month back , and did not notice anything earlier.

    Have heard about some hair issues growth/fall etc but never heard of this. In general read in news papers, that people approach doctors for this issue, but heard about only non-pregnancy issues.

    This happened to me as well and I too had the same doubt.. most people told me that happens when we're gonna have a baby boy.. in my case it turned out true. It did go off completely a day or two after the delivery. So don't worry.

    I had similar issue while my pregnancy, and every doctor I checked with said skin n hair issues are common during pregnancy, maybe a bit different from one to another, but it's common.

    And slowly it started getting back to normal after delivery.

    Thanks kukudukuu, so it is seen in pregnancy. Bit relieved. Have to check about the baby boy part, never heard about this :)

    Thanks Ashneys, yeah a bit familiar about skin issues by now, but for this question of mine, haven't found any solution. Thanks for your reply. Good to hear through personal experiences here.

    Don't worry this is common.. I also had this problem.. My neck turned out to be very dark and then it gradually decreased after pregnancy... Don't worry you will get your complexion back... Elders say it's because you are carrying a boy baby.. Not sure how far it is true but they predicted it right for me.. I have a boy

    Just updating thread, even I delivered baby boy :)
    I guess this is one of common symptoms for baby boy.
