Some kids have no hurry to talk because their mom's do everything for them even before they think of it. If this is you, make your kid ask for what he/she wants.

    Hi,
There is no reason to panic. My son was uttering very few words like amma & pappa when he was 18 months old. Keep talking to him when you play with him or attend to his chores, that way he will get used to hear a lot of words and slowly starts imitating.

    Hi Prabha,

I agree with Sravanthi.. Dont worry.. :thumbsupEven my son started apeaking after 2.6 years. At first we worried much. But after moving to new apartment he got a chance to interact with other kids. Then he started to speak slowly.

Dont allow him to watch TV all the time.

If your kid has tonque tie check with ur doctor.

    Regards,
    Rarey

At 18 months DS probably knew 10 words. Now at 2 yrs (DS will be 2 on July 31st!) he is speaking 3-4 word sentences and some 5 word sentences...
Don't worry..Keep talking to your child all the time. Allow him to speak when he signs.
Read, read and read lots of books. Also do flash cards...DS picked up lots of words from books and flash cards.

    Good Luck!

    hi there
i faced the same problem with my son , he was speaking only 15 words till the age of 3 but once he turned 3 ,he is talking so much ,now he tells me stories .
i would suggest u to read books they really help ,singing rhymes .
once he turns 2 keep a diary and write down the words he is using ,try to add at least one to two words every month ,this way u know how many words he knows .
i hope this helps . dont worry .everything will be fine
