Yes currently he's the talk of the town and seems like he's a down to earth guy . Saw a couple of his interviews..it didn't seem to me tat he is a popular actor at all. .He was so frank and just as normal as anyone out there..
Wow @anika987 kalakkal. VD is current eye candy. maddy forever. Aditya roy kapur from bolly .. Few others who are underrated - Ashok selvan , atharva.. why dont they get good movies. they are fresh and have a great screen presence too.
Ashok Selvan is that thegadi hero? He is okay Maddy always forever!! Atharva was good in immaikadha nodigal..sharp eyes!!
I think my first ever crush was on actor Karthik...he was good looking and charming in Mouna Raagam yes but he was even more amazing in Varusham 16 I don't think any actors in those days would have risked playing the arrogant, snobbish, slightly villainous and cruel role but Karthik managed to pull it off and yet made us fall for him. The movie was released in the late 80's but I only watched in mid 90's. There were no DVDs then where we can easily skip to our favorite parts. You need to "rewind" or "fast forward" the cassette player to watch the scene that you like. I don't know how many times I would "rewind" or "forward" Varusham 16 cassette just to watch Karthik. Sigh...athu oru kaalam
Next came Ajith in Aasai. We went to the cinema to watch this film which was a big thing back then. In those days, we only watch Rajini and Kamal's films or some really famous films in cinema. Considering that Prakashraj and Ajith were not big stars then and Vasanth too was not a well-known director, it still makes me wonder what made us watch this film in cinema though. But whatever the reason maybe, it was one of the best decision for me ever. The sight of Ajith's first shot, him coming out after bathing in the river (or was it a pond?) was something that I can never forget. Appadi iruntha Ajith, ippo gundu thakkali maadiri irukkaan. Cho sad!
I can't remember gushing over many actors before or after Ajith. I mean, yes they get you excited when you watch them on screen (Arvindswamy, Madhavan, Arjun) but none really had the lasting charm. Madhavan was good looking in Alaipayuthy and Minnale but then he was really inconsistent- both with his choice of film and appearance so after a couple of films, I lost interest in watching him too. Arvindswamy and Arjun too. Arvindswamy was amazing in Thalapathy, Roja and Marupadiyum but then he started putting on weight and got disinterested in film and finally disappeared soon after Alaipayuthey. All these changed with the arrival of Hrithik Roshan. I didn't pay much attention to Hrithik when he first came as I was busy swooning over Madhavan. But everyone started talking about Hrithik at one point and that prompted me to watch his films. KNPH, Fiza, Mission Kashmir, Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham etc etc...Regardless of the films being good or bad, I was hooked to them...I even watched some of the worst films ever produced in India just for him- Yaadein, Aap mujhe...(something something), main prem ki diwani hoon (why would anyone act in those films is anyone's wonder). And then Dhoom 2, Jodha Akbar, Zindegi Na Milegi Dobara happened and he was back to the right tracks.
Yes, that character was just so mesmerizing. My favorite were the scenes after he got to know the truth about Kushi and tries to get into her good books. Aah, the flirting and teasing I'm not a serial person at all yet this is the only one I followed right from the start til the end!
True... Their Jodi is like Tom and Jerry And Kushi making Jalebis when she is angry with Arnav is even more cool
Current Fav : VD AllTime Fav : Maddy and his voice( dont miss that viral bathroom selfie! ) Naduvula Fav (2000's) : South Indian Siddharth... For me its always total package..just looking pretty doesn't do the magic..
