In India there is no shortage for varieties, either it can be silk or cotton, north or south, women display extraordinary Creativity in saree design &patterns. Bamboo & cane basket weaving takes extra time & energy than wire baskets. Women of north- east excel in this craft. Women have a good hand at carpet weaving too.

1.Tailors: women are taught tailoring from an early age itself. Stitching &Sewing fetches them a good deal of income. Many are employed in apparel companies.

Apart from stitching clothes, women stich leaves together to make it as a plate for consuming food. This practise is highly employed in southern India.

    5. Potters: women under take this work with lot of care & attention. Mud pots for cooking & gardening are made in different sizes & shapes. Now -a -Days painted pots are also available.

    6. Women work as priest in temples of north India.

    7. Many women vendors sell & supply large quantities of vegetables in village Fairs.

    8. Many women in villages are panchayat heads, Grama sevikas, post women, Teachers & Midwife.

    9. With many self- help groups emerging, women work in batches & shifts in their skilled spots.

Though this much of change is welcomed, still many women go out into forest for cutting firewood, many go a long way to get clean drinking water. Women in many cases along with children go for labour work in construction activities & as daily wages in match box factories & crackers manufacturing units.

All these women too should get relieved from the tangle.
