Hello friends I came here on H4 and thinking of writing GRE this year on november or december. I feel group study is important during preparation as we can help one another with various topics and can keep a track on various issues related to gre. Have you checked in GRE meetup ? GRE Meetup Groups - Meetup I am sure you will be able to get a group.
GRE --group studies wont fetch you anything.. its a bit on the lower side and easy to crack compared to GMAT.. the best thing is to mug up barrons (by identifying using the root words) and be good at your basic funda in math.. all the best!
