For a tooth's enamel to be broken down, it has to be exposed to acid repeatedly over a relatively long period of time. A strong acid attack can demineralise and erode the enamel structure, but the process is long and slow. Out of the whole 24hr digestion cycle, food (or anything swallowed) is in the areas of extreme acidity only for about 6 hours.

The tooth (when swallowed) won't remain in the GI tract for the amount of time required to be completely broken down. It will be excreted in the next few hours.
