    Hello ILs...
This is certainly an innovative contest to put our cooking experiments to a spell. I would call it the perfect blend of EAST MEETS WEST.
Here is my recipe. It would be appropriate to call it the Indian version of the English meat cake...

    SOYA MACARONI CAKE
Ingredients : 250 gms soya granules soaked in warm water for half hour
    3 eggs beaten
    1/2 cup boiled macaroni
    1 onion chopped
    1 tomato chopped
    1 tsp ginger garlic paste
    1/2 tsp turmeric
    1 tsp red chilli pwd
    1 tsp dhania pwd
    1/2 tsp garam masala
    salt to taste
    chopped coriander leaves
Heat oil. Add onion and saute till it turns pinkish. Add ginger garlic paste and tomatoes. Saute till pulpy. Now add the dry masalas. Saute well till you aroma arises. Then add the soaked soya granules and salt. Cook till completely dry. Seasoning and spice can be adjusted. Leave to cool.
Meanwhile beat 3 eggs with little salt and chopped coriander. Line a round baking tray with aluminium foil and grease the foil. Add the boiled macaroni to the cooked soya mince. Mix well. Add the beaten eggs. Mix well. The mixture should be of such consistency that it should drop off a spoon.
Pour this mixture in the baking tray and bake in 200C oven for 35-40 mins or till done, Prick with a knife to check if done, If knife comes out clean, it is an indication that the eggs are cooked and cake is done. Leave to cool. Then remove from tray and cut in squares and serve with ketchup or chutney.
** This cake can be made and stored in the freezer. Make it warm in microwave or steam hot it just before serving.

*** Trying to upload the recipe picture. Due to connectivity issues, it is just not happening. If it gets attached...then lucky me!!!

    Hi, all

I am here with a sweet desi burger recipe.

    Ingredients:-

    Banana steamed ( nenthrappalam) - 1

    buns -2

ghee or unsalted butter-2 or 3 spoon

    mango jam- 1tsp

mixed fruit jam - 1 tsp

    Rusk -3 or 4

    dry fruits - for decoration.

Steam and mash the banana. Crush the rusks and make them into fine powder. Make the banana in to a mediun size ball. Then gently press it into the shape of a cutlet. Roll it in the rusk powder and make sure that all sides are covered with the rusk powder.

Heat the pan and put 2 or 3 spn of ghee or butter. Place the cutlet and shallow fry both sides
Slice the buns. Spread mango jam on one and mixed fruit jam on the other.
Place the sweet banana cutlet in between the two buns. Decorate with dry fruits.

You can also mix the banana and steamed pineapple together to make the cutlet. This is a sweet burger and really tasty too.

    Dear IL,

Pasta With Veggies & Soya Chunks

This dish is easy to prepare and is one of the favorite healthy breakfast at my home. I conceived this recipe while trying to cultivate the habit of including wheat and soya for breakfast. This dish offers rich sources of protein, dietary fiber and carbohydrates from the wheat based macaroni and more protein from the soya nuggets. Green olives may be added as desired for taste.

    Ingredients:

    Pasta{any one variety} :
    1 cup
    Soya Chunks(Meal Maker/Nutrela) : 10 Pieces
French beans : 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
    Carrot : 1 medium (grated)
    Panner : 1/2 cup (grated)
Ginger Garlic paste : 1 tsp
    Dhania powder : 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder[adjust as per your spice level] :
    1 tsp
    Oil : 2-3 tbsp
    Few chopped coriander leave
    s for garnishing
    salt to taste

    Procedure:

    1. Pressure cook for one whistle soya chunks and pasta together with little amount of water. Once the pressure is gone, now remove the whistle and put the pasta and soya in cool water.
    2. Take a sauce pan, heat 3 tsp of oil, once the oil is hot add beans and carrots let them fry for some time, then add gingergarlic paste and fry till the smell goes.
3.Now add pasta and soya chunks and cook for few minutes with lid closed.
    4. Now add red chilli pwder, salt to taste and cook for 10min.
5.At last garnish the dish with grated paneer and fresh corriander leaves.

Try this yummmy recipe and let me know your opinion friends

    Dear IL,

Here is the recipe of the "Grilled Tandoori Chicken" in Indian traditional way.
Tandoori chicken is marinated in yogurt, lemon juice, and plenty of spices,
can easily be cooked on a barbecue grill. This recipe needs to marinate at least 8 hours or overnight.

    Grilled Tandoori Chicken

    INGREDIENTS :

    Chicken drumsticks – 4 pieces , washed & skinned
chicken (boneless and skinless, but into 1 inch pieces) – 1/2 lb
Capsicum – 1 (diced into cubes)
wooden skewers, soaked in water for 1 hour - 2

    MARINADE:
    Yogurt - 1 1/2 cups, well beaten
    Ginger Paste – 1 tbsp
    Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
Red Chili Powder - 1/4 tsp
    Paprika – 1/2 tsp

    PASTE
    Lemon Juice – 1/2 cup
    Tandoori masala -
    1/2 tsp
    Salt – to taste, optional
Red Food Color - 2 drops

    PROCEDURE :

    1. Wash the skinned Chicken well and with a knife, make 1-inch slits in it.
    2. Pour all of the marinade ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
    3. Do a taste test for the marinade and adjust the salt and other spices as needed.
    4. Add the marinade to the chicken (in the zip lock bag) and give another good mix. Make sure all the pieces get well coated with the yogurt mixture.
    5. Store in the refrigerator to marinate overnight or minimum of 4 hours for best results.
    6. At the time of barbecuing, once the coal turns to red color.spray some cooking oil on the grill so that the chicken does not stick to the grill.
    7. Remove the chicken from the marinade and skewer it alternately with capsicum pieces.
    8. With tongs, place the chicken on the grill and close the lid. Allow it to cook for 5 minutes.
    9. Flip the chicken, coat it with the paste and allow it to cook for a few minutes. Flip again. Repeat a couple of times until the chicken is fully cooked.
    10. The Chicken needs to cook for approximately 18-20 minutes total.
    11. Remove Chicken into a platter. Always let it sit for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to settle in.
This is served with a salad, slices of cucumber, onions and lemon.

As we have summer, all of our friends planned to do barbecue........we njoyed alot....the food that was grilled on charcoal was very tasty... i got remember of my old days where my grandmother used to cook on charcoal... Hope so you people will try this.....
