the cold weather could play a role in reduced intake of water, but not taking anything at all is not good.. but is he drinking milk/juice etc? ie a combined intake of milk/juice & water, do you think hes having enough? To encourage him to have water, dont give him sugary drinks.. that will have adverse effects.. not good for teeth too.. try different sippy cups, mugs etc which has his fav characters, animals etc.. kids like to imitate.. so you also make a huge show of how much you& DH love to drink water &enjoy it from the sippy/regular cups.. maybe he will follow suit.. dont force too much at one time.. keep the mug near his play area & encourage him to take small sips regularly.. good luck... it will change.. but keep an eye on his urine output too to make sure hes not dehydrated..
I too had this issue. I found a herbal tea for kids from 6 motnhs onwards, its called milutea. may be there are some other brands too. have a try. My DS enjoys it.
nithya, in cold weather even we dont drink much water..but definitely we should drink more water in winter as the weather is extremely dry..DS also doesnt drink enough water..if i give juice in sippy he takes it..but doesnt drink water in it..now a days i started giving him water in spoons..give him few spoons after each feeding or in between..and then 4oz juice a day..i dont think thats enough..but with spoon feeding, he takes little bit of water..
Thanks lots for all valuable replies. He use to take milk but not juice. Anyhow i try different cups and shows. Exactly what PeeVee does I too do the same by feeding water by spoon. Nithya<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
