    Welcome back in your new avatar @Novalis! I wish you a wonderful new year 2019. I sincerely appreciate your interesting response.

    Is that all how you could describe the interactions of ordinary mortals here in IL? Don't you think any insight is dormant unless one attempts to inquire into it on his/her own? Every interaction is a life experience and add unknown resolution to a complex human mind. In my view, discovering self is a lonely journey and others can only show the path but not the destination. Everyone in IL who is attempting to share their life experiences, attempt to assimilate insights from others' experiences and create a path for their own self development are all heroes.

    I agree with that assessment that those three are still capable of making each one of us inquire into development and growth. The question I ask myself is how do I engage who are left out of these fab four (you included) to continue to provide insight and how do I convert their contributions to my development? These independent thinkers need some fertile land to seed their insights. Even those fertile land are worth some praise for developing ability to receive those insights.

    If life is limited to kindred souls that are capable of helping each other for their own development, will that provide sense of fulfillment? Indulging with ordinary mortals like me makes life much more interesting. If this effort is not made, I have no option but to go for psychedelic mushrooms. :facepalm:

    lively confrontations =Amulet and I discussing the monolingual (courting) couples who prefer to chat away in English uninitiated in other regional languages. How marginal or prevalent is the taxonomy of IAs = Indo-Anglians / EFs = English Firsts / ECs = English Comfortables. I think, she confronts with a thunk. That gig was not merely a pedantic dialogue of cliched stats but a lively counterpuntal analysis of the fastest growing pseudo-caste in India.

    dormant insights = techniques of conditioning a baby to sleep routine and purchase of stacked insert-pans for InstantPot. I neither have a baby nor an Instant Pot. The insight was delightful and worthy not yet just integrated into my lifestyle. One day with a mewling baby or a steaming Pot, I might dredge those fantastic tips out of dormancy for they have found relevance in my life.

    In the new avatar I cannot use rich editor (yet) to underline or italicize my tone. I thought of encapsulating the "yet lack relevance" in the original text in indicative bold (syntax: *text*) but was derelict in my Wagnerian prelude as with lapse in emphasizing that 'changing my life beyond just interaction'.

    Amulet's IA couples and baby sleep routines and insert-pans of InstantPot don't leach into my offline life as much as the foremost calling to groom myself with conversational fluency. I struck with relevance in that zone! The shenanigans of these members are impressive and ring in closer to my turf. When sokanasanah gusto edits his intent as "dude, I was only flirting with the puzzle" and when Gauri sardonically quips "demystifying the clues", I import such playful constructs into my everyday tease, in that, I badger Michael: Dude, you are supposed to demystify that manual for us.

    Five minutes into any interchanged conversation, confounded strangers often haltingly inquire, 'were you born in India? But your accent and language ...' I beam in that wilful transformation to steadily fix a slew of my bugbears by assimilating utterances. The insinuation of 'changing life beyond just interaction' was interpreted by me as momentary interaction in the aftermath of which the intrigue lingered, like: reading a cited book or: relaying insights sourced from here onto another. Do I oblige others similarly? Of course! Read the material nudged by Cheeniya and Amulet. But, they happened much later, sequel, hence, didn't include them in the picturesque entry of this foundling.

    Your intent of the thread to solicit the consequences of interactions is earnest. You and I and the peeping eyes scanning this mini-essay know that I can assemble a bibliotheque waxing on the the merits of IL -- names, activity, gush and gurgle. To honor that earnestness with which you inquired --- how is IL changing our lives (beyond), preferred to isolate only that consequential outgrowth of IL whilst Amulet's toffee-nosed IA couples and the developmental theories of Anna Freud and Melanie Klein to discipline children and the confusion over 7-in-1 or 9-in-1 IP pot by ordinary mortals have NOT been shrugged off but only subdued for later revival.

    The charm of IL is often imputed to the sweeping bonhomie cultivated here. Notwithstanding, the charm is also the indulgence of preferential diversity here, each motivated to sneak back into their offline life the relevance harvested from these interactions while coexisting with the ruffians or contrarians or the outliers, or the non-committals like me. That, I say, has been the cherished immortality of the spirited iLites in my experience. Each positioning within the eccentricity (your undersigned) and the effusion (versatile contributors) through a familiar nod: that's okay. Just be yourself, center-stage or fringe.

    My earlier response was spontaneous upright delight from slouch through that fringe viewing on reading Gauri's skinny on me: 'I have been lucky to witness the transformation first hand'. You noticed it? Okay, I am not delusional over my growth spurt.

    @Novalis,

    Thank you for clarifying what you meant by "lively confrontations and dormant insight" in your earlier comment.

    Thank you for understanding the intent.

    It is satisfying to know that ordinary mortals like me still get your attention and it is just a question of priority.

    You have articulated it better than my simple EU (English Uncomfortable) term,

    Good enough, I'll take this and blush away from the rest.:coldsweat: You're quite the IL luminary yourself Viswa! The generous words are appreciated. When it comes to giving or receiving compliments, I am seldom a 'straight-shooter'. I lean toward the bashful, 'show (maybe), don't tell' end of the spectrum, a failing all research suggests I remedy. I will continue to work on it.

    Late Kate that I am, my advanced apologies to anyone I missed.
    Trying to keep to alphabetical order as much as possible.

    @Agatha83 Agatha ma'am – My admiration is for your tongue-in-cheek humor on the quirkiness of the people we depend on for everyday existence, such as the electricity board, phone and internet providers, bank employees. Your posts not only bring a smile but has hit me smack dab, as I recall my own experiences with a nod, “Yeah, true I too went through this” .

    @AkilaMani, @Shanvy , Manjukps, @sravanitenali and numerous others – Thank you for your solid support participation in the Time management thread. I cannot thank you enough for the many valuable suggestions and methods you had provided. I have changed many of my methods because yours were more practical.

    @Amica – A delightful person who has come through as a positive person also. You are highly knowledgeable and from my interactions, a very friendly person. I would like to meet you one day and have great discussions.

    @Anusowmyan – Thank you for your informative threads.

    @ashima10 – The tireless step climber. Many days I have admired you for your relentless pursuit of achieving your goal. You show what perseverance is all about. Love your humor too.

    @HariLakhera sir, @Thyagarajan sir, @teenulahari, @Scorpio707 and other snippet writers.
    Thank you all for your lovely snippets – each a gem on its own merits.

    @blackbeauty84 , @IniyaaSri , @Rajeni , @sreeram , @crvenkatesh1963 , @Tamrakshar , @Rrg
    – Oh, what can I say? No words. To conjure up fiction, and to organize logically from beginning to the end. Fiction for me is truly difficult. Even the minutest of details need to be taken care of for a story to be complete. Readers are notorious for remembering information that do not gel.
    Each of your stories is a delight in their own way. Thank you all.

    @Rrg sir – thank you for explaining many Tamil proverbs.

    @Balajee – The King of Satire. I learn a lot of what goes on in the political arena from your posts. For me I have no political leanings; therefore am able to enjoy the humor part of your presentation more. I salute you for posting what is in your mind.

    @Caughtinbetween, @Lalithambigai , @girvani , @joylokhi , @mangaii , @DDream , @ashneys, @JustAnotherMom , @Mistt @Laks09 and others. Thank you for your very many encouraging and brilliant posts.

    @Cheeniya Sri sir, –What appreciation can a mere fledgling give to a person who has complete command of the language and a wonderful style all swimming in the sweetness of subtle humor? That is you sir.

    @Chitvish ma'am. You have been my guide in so many ways ma'am. Words are insufficient to express my deep gratitude.

    @Gauri03 – Gentle, Stable, Erudite, Friendly, Encouraging, Brilliant, Compassionate, … these are just a few out of the many that I think of whenever I read your posts, be it original thread or your responses to others.
    Your love for your family can be seen in every baked goodie. I admire how you take care of your health, one that wish to emulate, when I see your posts on exercise, meditation, and healthy meals.
    It is my privilege to be able to interact with you Gauri.

    @GeetaKashyap – Maha Saraswathi Roopine. Painting, Drawing, Writing – Fiction and non-fiction, Cooking … and excellence in each of them. I have no words except a deep admiration for you Geeta. Many a times I have wished, “oh why can’t I be like her!” you are a good role model.

    @Greenbay – You call yourself a straight shooter! I don’t know about that. But I surely know you are a great dad! I followed your posts on the arrival of your twin babies. Your love for your kids even before they arrived in this world was very heart warming.

    @rgsrinivasan – A great writer you are RGSrinivasan. I have not commented on many of your works, but let me say here that your poetries are excellent. I see them rhyming. Just as I admire fiction writers, I admire poets also. Amazing quality it is to convey much in small verses.

    @iyerviji Vijima – You are a beacon – showing me the way on how to live life to the fullest, how to be content, and how above all just be human.

    @justanothergirl JAG – If my love for Carnatic music multiplied tenfold the credit goes to JAG. She is highly knowledgeable and I began to immerse more and more into this vast field encouraged and motivated by her posts.

    Not only music, but she is a brilliant young lady in other fields too. I second @Gauri’s feelings… It always gave me comfort seeing JAG’s post, knowing that my sister is here. I miss her a lot.

    @jayasala42 ma’am, @PushpavalliSrinivasan , @periamma (Rukmini)
    You are great stalwarts in this forum from whom I have learnt how to be graceful, and accept life with all its ups and downs.
    @periamma is also a great poet and I have admired your invaluable Tamil articles on Agriculture.

    @jskls , I always look up to you as an extremely knowledgeable, mature, and friendly young lady. Good poet too.

    @kaniths You are a very sweet young lady who has a zeal for not just drawings but for learning as well. Your technical posts have had me reeling many times.

    @knbg - You introduced me to the beauty of nature filled North-East India through your beautiful narratives of the life in those places. Whenever I read your posts, I always wanted a snuggle blanket and a hot cup of tea, so that I can relish the cool mountains.

    @PavithraS Your knowledge in Tamil literature and command in handling the language has always mesmerized me. Going through some of your responses in other threads, I have concluded that you have an equally, if not greater command of English. One person whom I would like to meet one day.

    @nandinimithun , @shravs3 - two sweethearts. They are my daughters. My only complaint is their delicious food pictures are playing a havoc on my palate and I end up, eating a bit too much.

    @SinghManisha , @SunPa , @MalStrom , @peartree
    You are all brilliant! I have been amazed at your insight to many a complicated situation and have admired the clarity in which you have conveyed the correct solution, or correct assessment, and at time the right amount of censure. I am your great admirer.

    @ksuji – thank you for your jokes and small puzzles. They have many times kept me smiling.

    @meenasankaran – Queen of Humor. How you do it is beyond me. Be it Sundal for Navarthri, a potted plant left in your care, draping a madisaar, or employing a household help … you find humor in all these situations.
    It has always been a pleasure seeing your posts. Do return more frequently.

    @Rihana – I gave you the Innovator title earlier and am adding one more.
    Captain of the Ship – You have a great ability to lead, and steer, and make decisions. In many threads I have been impressed by your ability to isolate the real problem from the noise around it and address it with exceptionally good solutions.
    Your command of the English language, the ability to express complicated matters that I could understand is one that I have admired.

    @Srama – When I think of you I think orchids. I think of blue skies, green grass, dewy mornings, walkers, runners, gym, library, the early morning rising sun and everything nature in this world. The song, “All things bright and beautiful….” Is aptly yours.
    Thank you for all the lovely articles that remind us that nature is still with us, for us to enjoy and protect.

    @satchitananda – Sats – When I see birds I think of you. I think of your compassionate articles about the sparrows missing, I hear your pain when you write about the damage done to the beautiful city of Bangalore. I hear your anger at the atrocities that happen everywhere. I also saw Germany through your eyes and also smile at your interactions with your husband.
    Love the introductions to every month and announcements in the Finest Posts.

    @shyamala1234 @sindmani - thank you for your constant encouragement with your likes

    @sokanasanah – The Professor. I shall always remember your puzzles for they kept my brain alert, whether I solved them or not is a different issue. I have enjoyed your humor, and also looked up to many of the sound advice you have given parents.

    @Viswamitra – To me you have always come across the protective elder brother who has deep concerns for, and is protective of, his sisters. You also will not hesitate to chide the sister if she crossed the line – be it language usage or showing disrespect for others.
    You carry this forum forward through your articles, your responses to others, your puzzles, your contributions to the cooking thread (just saw one in Instant Pot) and your encouragement to everyone.
    It is a blessing to be your sister though virtually.

    **************
    I am very sure I missed many friends who have been with me through the eight year journey here.
    My apologies.
