Question about IP accessories. What are the nice to have accessories for IP that can be bought from India? I have the 6 qt IP and whatever came with it, like the trivet. The steel vessels I already have are only the containers from pressure cooker, and a few small to med size for making daal, chai (most with handle), and a few lids of assorted size. Friend is going to India, and wants to bring stuff for me : ) Insists... is at airport, and reminding me from there also that I am yet to give her a list. : ) I know what she is up to.. she wants to bring all the items in duplicate : ) and so asking...... OK - so, please tell me your "I have this" and wish-list of what things can be bought from India to use with InstantPot. Pictures would be appreciated. Maybe the salesmen in steel vessel shops in India are advanced enough, and if you tell them I want IP accessories to take to the phoren, they might present an array : ) I remember when we went curtains shopping in India, the salesman knew more about my house windows than I did. : )
Oh my...I am drooling over the shiny IP. This is an indication, this girl needs a time out. else, I will start dreaming IP from now on until I get one myself. Strangely, when I want something badly, like really badly, the universe starts bringing the images in front of me. This time I blame you dear @kkrish. and that eggplant curry looks mouthwatering!!!!
I don't have any special accessories than the stainless steel dishes I had pre-IP. So can't think of anything specific to IP!! The stackable containers I used with my regular pressure cooker is what I use in the IP if I am cooking pot-in-pot. And agree on the curtains... I was buying curtains in Chennai for my house here in the US and I was chatting with my mom about curtain rods and he coolly tells me I can buy them from JCPenney. I was astounded!!
I like the newer models too. I almost caved in and was going to order another 5 qt., and my husband promptly opened the cabinet that has all our regular pressure cookers and I stopped x-(
haha..my husband does the same. Last time I hinted on yet another kitchen gadget, he showed me all the stuff I already have and also the picture of cool food I could make without a new kitchen item. It is like my own recipe pictures work against my wishes
@Rihana - I got the stackable separators on amazon. I didn't have the Indian one with me. I have only two containers but I see people using three. I don't see it online and was planning to buy it from India. I probably will use it for rice/lentil/veggies or something like that.
@Rihana, there is a youtube video on IP accessories. Check out this one if you want something from this- Not sure if they are available in India though. I think there will be a better version of stainless steel boiling insert in India. In Ikes, it looks like this one STABIL Boiling insert - IKEA its also available on Amazon- Amazon.com: Ikea Stainless Steel Boiling Insert Detachable Handle Boil Different Food in One Pot At the Same Time Stabil: Home & Kitchen
@Rihana My apologies for the late reply. I too use the pots and pans that I used with Prestige pressure cooker. Not helpful at all, I am.
If it is this kind of blame, I'll take it happily @blessings1010 ; any day. LOL, they say help comes in many forms - perhaps this is one of the messages from asariri (u haven't seen me right?) which means it should be the one. Thanks for the compliment on the eggplant curry. Come home one day and I'll ply you with this.
oh yes. It is definitely a sign for me. Thank you for inviting me. I would love to know more such awesome recipes from you.
