I just turned 40 and thinking of my retirement as early as now. I also have no investments yet, what do you think is the best retirement plan and where to invest?
My plan is to invest in 3 houses if possible . One for me to stay and two to give on rent . Then I will have monthly income even after retirement .
I have already invested in a coconut land. I will continue to keep few families there by giving moderate accommodation facilities, so that they could work there and earn a living, while I enjoy the income. The estate value and the income increases each year. But well maintenance is important for the harvest. I have invested in metro lands already, but in the future I might sell them and deposit the money in bank for a monthly interest for my living. My H will have a decent pension too. But my passion is to start a business, and I have even selected a name for it. If I am lucky, that will be a great investment for the future. I am just 34, and I hope I have time to plan.
Rental income is not a great plan as monthly income unless it ticks all the boxes of prime location, demand. the rent and return on investment, can never justify the investment cost
Thanks for the replies. At first, I was actually looking for a retirement plan but when I read some of the responses, I began to consider real estate. I am not so sure though but what if I get a commercial real estate loans with the objective of having the property rented out or maybe buy and sell? Will it be a good investment for retirement?
