I: So you have been married for over ten years?
She: Yes. And it will remain that way.
I: What do you mean?
She: I sometimes feel like leaving him and running away. But my parents have not taught me that. So I will have to stay with him till I die. My kids are all that I have. I live only for them. They make me smile.
I: I know. (And somewhere deep inside I did)
My phone began to beep. I looked at the clock. It was one o’clock, time for my kid’s lunch and time for me to allow her to go home to her kids. I decided to end the interview. But thoughts of her life, her smiles and tears, I knew, would linger with me for long.
