Blood Pressure

A rise in the blood pressure towards the end term could be a sign of preeclampsia. S can affect the foetus because it causes a lowering of the blood flow to the placenta.

Ultrasound

Look forward to this one because you will be able to get a glimpse of the live that is growing inside you. it also helps the doctor to know the approximate due date for the delivery by calculating the gestational age, the position of the foetus, foetal abnormalities if any and also whether it is a single or multiple foetus.

Glucose Tolerance Test

This is especially recommended if the doctor feels that you are developing gestational diabetes. If you do then a special diet will be recommended. And in some cases insulin supplements as well.

Foetal Heart Rate

This is done during labour once the contractions have begun. If the heart beats don’t fall in the normal range of 110 to 160 beats per minute then it means that the baby is not getting enough oxygen during the birthing process. Then appropriate actions are taken.

Prenatal tests are important. So take it in your stride. Read up so that you know what is coming up. And do take very good care of your body. Stay healthy and keep your unborn child healthy.
