Eating

Once kids are stressed they refuse to eat. However the day before and on the examination eating healthy is essential. So don’t forget to give her a nutritious meal, and if she is unwilling then find ways like eating together, while watching her favourite movie etc to make her eat.

Smart Strategy

This will not happen in a day and is more of a process. For example: make a chart for History dates and stick it to her wall for her to see every day; play learning a new word everyday from the newspaper etc for English; plan out a timetable etc.

Meditate

This is again a process. Teach her the art of meditation. It not only soothes the nerves but increases concentration too. Also, a little bit of prayers and a little bit of exercise regularly goes a long way in keeping the exam tension at bay.

Just Before Exams

  1. Tell her not to discuss too much with friends
  2. As a parent, be around but don’t make her listen to too many ‘to dos’ from you either.
  3. Teach her that if she feels she does not know any question, then just to skip them and come back to it later on.
  4. When she gets stuck at a problem, tell her that instead of panicking, she should just close her eyes for a moment and breathe deeply.
